My DH and I are trying to sell our home (we just put it on the market) and our neighbors have decided to put the filter of their above ground pool on .... all day. They never, ever go in it and the filter is on its way out so it roars .... SO LOUDLY ... all day long. You can even hear it inside the house. They do NOT go in this pool ... I have no idea how it doesn't drive them crazy! My sisters and I were trying to have dinner out on my porch last night and we were literally like, 'WHAT? I can't hear you!!!' It's ridic. I'm afraid someone won't buy the house bc of this loud filter. Our neighbors are SO nice and I feel guilty asking them to shut it off. I was considering saying something like, 'Our realtor told us that some buyers were turned off by your loud filter.' But seriously, it bothers US! I mean, we're not even up on mlsli yet, but how can they be so inconsiderate? What should I do? What would you do?

I am a wuss - so I would have FH go over and ask them to keep the filter off for the hours you will showing. I would try and keep it general hours so you won't have to keep going over and telling them.
I cant see why they have it on all day - what a waste of energy, I want to see their LIPA bill!!! Our pool is on a timer for about 3 hours twice a day and we have a heater.
Do you know if they have a heater that might be why they have it on all the time.

No, they don't have a heater. Besides, they NEVER go in the flippin pool. I asked Joe to tell them. He said he would. I saw him talking to the guy yesterday for like a half hour and I got all excited but he said he chickened out. Have NO idea why'd they keep it on. Maybe they don't want us to sell.

If they are doing it because they don't want you to sell that is suuuper shady.
Some people are just anal about the cleanliness of their pool. My FH has to completely vacuum the pool before he will get in.
