Opinions Needed on How to Decorate My Card Box (longish)
A few days ago I posted this card box that I had fallen in love with, but not the price:
Well I went to Home Goods yesterday afternoon and found this:
My father is a carpenter and we totally think we can make the new one look like the original. I already have the star fish.
Here is my question: Should I go so far as to put wood trim on, paint it white and distress it, or should I go with the black and keep it more modern looking?
Here is a pic of the venue and what we will have on each napking for the reception and the table setting. We are not going overboard on the whole starfish/beach thing.
What do you ladies think? I keep going back and forth. If you made it this far...bless you!

Even though i LOVE the original.. i would keep it more modern. The original has more of an old, antique feel- but i personally think for your wedding everything should be 'something new' !! And dont even bother with the hassle of tearing it up.. i think you can make it look awesome without distressing it.. Thats my opinion..

i think that if you fell in love with that and you have the means and the time, then do what you want to make it the way that you love.
I think with your venue, the distressed beachy look would go better!!

I'm torn. I feel like if you have the time and means to do so...the 'weathered' look is great. But on the other hand, I think that you can dress it up the way it is without making yourself crazy and it will still be just as awesome. I'm sorry. I know that didn't answer your question at all!!

I think the weathered look is more interesting/has more character but I still love the modern one. I don't think you can go wrong in this case.

I think I would paint it white. I think its too dark for the place you are having your reception and I think the white goes better with your table setting

I think if you can make this one look like the original then go for it. I love the way it goes with your venue/theme.
