So as I have looked at like 15 different reception halls, it is very expensive. So I am considering having a January wedding since the price is like half. The FH thinks its way to cold and is not going to be nice.
Any opinions? Any brides getting married or have gotten married in January?
Thanks!

Re: Opinions needed on Winter Wedding
I am getting married in January and I am so excited for it. I think it's so beautiful and romantic. We are getting married at the Fox Hollow and what sold me on a winter wedding other than the price was the huge fireplaces....one in our Cocktail Room and the other in our Reception Room. And I am using candles as our centerpieces to add to the romance!

Re: Opinions needed on Winter Wedding
In early February FH and I went to see the place where we are getting married and they were setting up for a bat mitzvah with a winter wonderland theme and I took pictures. The flowers were all white. Its gorgeous. FM me if you want me to email them to you. I am getting married and it looked so good I may do all white for my centerpieces.

Winter weddings can be beautiful. If you don't want a winter wedding, try a friday night or Sat day wedding. The rates are much cheaper.

I ALSO BOOKED THE FOX HOLLOW & WITH ALL OF THEIR FIREPLACES & COZY CHATEU LOOKING ROOMS I LOVED IT! I CANT WAIT! ALTHOUG I HAVE A PREMIUM DAY (VALENTINES DAY) I DIDNT GET A GREAT RATE LIKE THE REST OF THE WINTER BRIDES I STILL WANTED IT!
I'm happy that we are getting married in January. I

Re: Opinions needed on Winter Wedding
Originally I wasn't open to a winter wedding, no matter what my FI said, because I wanted an outdoor ceremony.
But the banquet manager of the CH told me there is really no guarantee on the weather. You can have a Spring or a Summer wedding and it rains on that day, after you have paid all the extra money. She herself got married in the winter, because she didn't want to be stressed out about the weather. So the weather thing was out of the way. At the end she did get a wonderful weather. The weather in Jan has been mild these few years and the snow has been more coming in Feb/March.
Another thing people don't attend wedding in Jan that much, so when they do get an invitation, they are excited.
Prices are more affordable in Jan.
So adding all these factors, I decided to go with my FI. And now I am happy, because I can have a winter wonderland theme.
