Being the newbie of the evening...would you suggest an engagement party? I would like to have a small one to get the families and bridal party together before the wedding in order to have everyone introduced. I am looking for a not so expensive place around $25pp outside...or maybe something with the option to go outside just in case of bad weather? Would love to have the country club beachie feel.

I believe the Thatch Cottage in Centerport might be what you are looking for. They are very reasonable for E-parties and I think there is an outside area that looks out onto the sound behind it. It is located on Rt 25A.
We had ours at Cafe Grappa, the price was perfect and we got tons of food. And everyone hasn't stopped talking about how good the food was. its located in East Meadow, Nassau County. The front doors open up onto a patio. Its not that much of a country club but you may want to check it out.
