Opinions on invitations please

OK well - i originally fell in love with this invitations -

But I came across a letter press invite which i like -

It would be like this but instead of the tree background it would be the pear as the background (i have a pear theme) - and there would be a vellum wrapper and i would put ribbon around the wrapper - like the first one -

Which one do you girls like better?

They're both beautiful. But I like the 2nd one more b/c it would tie in with your theme. Will the vellum have a design? What color would the vellum be?

I like them both, # one better I think, but # 2 is nice as well

The website i found the second invite on only has plain vellum - no design - but it will be a sage color and the ribbon will most likly be ivory.

Both invites are from Canada - so i am going to need some time - i am probably going to order them after the bar - either before i leave for Spain or after I come back.

That's good. Don't forget you need some time to send them to the calligrapher (if you're going to send them to a calligrapher). I got my envelopes back in 2 weeks and that was for computer calligraphy. Just give yourself time. Peter and I put the bows on the invites and stuffed our envelopes in 2 days I wish we would have had more time to do a few a night. It can get really tiring.

Thanks for the tips!! I havent decided if i am going to have them done by a calligrapher - i am going to try to do some calligraphy on my own - if it doesnt work out- i may do computer calligraphy - or do it on my computer myself - Still dont know though -

Invites are so much work - i am going to have my BMs help me since i havent asked them for any help yet

You're welcome! You should ask Deby for tips re: the calligraphy. She did her own.

LOL! Peter kept on saying...can't your friends come over and help you with the invites. I don't want to do anymore

I plan on getting my Bms to help me with the candle placecards. They're going to hate me

If I put Pants through putting ribbons on the invites and stuffing - the invites would look questionable and he would really kill me!!

Your BMs wont hate you - well at least not when they see how gorgeous your wedding will be with the votive placecards

LMAO!! I had to teach Peter how to put the bows on. I was doing some in one room and he was in another room doing some. I go in the room he was in to see what he's doing and he hadn't even fluffed up the bows. He just stuck them on the way they came out the bag they were in But after I showed him how to do it, he did a great job.

I'm really scared to do the candle placecards. They're going to be such a PITA.

guys are so funny when it comes to making things - i am such a perfectionist - pants just makes fun of me - but totally appreciates that i like making things look pretty -

Why dont you sit down on your own or with a few of the girls and try to make a couple to see how it goes and how long it takes - i am sure once you get the hang of it - it'll go smoothly -

Yeah I think that's what I'm going to do. I'm hoping that it will be easy once I get the vellum measurement correct.

Exactly - if you have a template it'll work out fine.

Where did you get the votives from?? Does Michael's have them? I finally figured out where it was - we went to see Flower Michelle today and passed by the Huntington store - i just need to go in the store now.

Yeah I got them at Michaels. They were on sale---3 for $1. And the candles I got for about $4.00 each. I didn't get the regular white candles, I got blue scented candles (my bms are wearing blue). You can get 100 white candles for $5 though.

Oh very cool! I'm probably going to use pear candles (to go with me theme hehe ). I am probably putting 6 votives around my centerpieces (they are low ones). I want to place votives all along the bar also - When FH and i enter i want them to close the lights and have us enter to the begining of Shania Twain's song (From this moment) where she is just talking.... and have them announce us during the orchestral part - so i want the votives to light the room....just a vision - i hope it works out that way!
