Opinions on the following venues?

Anyone know anything about these places? I'm really not into this so far but I'm trying to narrow down a location. So far I'm down to these
1. Crescent Beach Club - I love the setting but it's more than I want to spend - anyone have feedback about this place?
2. Sans Souci - very pretty and very reasonable... i don't love the surrounding area but i like that it's small and intimate since i only want about 130 people... and the view is pretty
3. Riverview - I haven't looked her yet but it looks like it's on the water and pretty

any help would be great. thanks!

We loved the Crescent, but it was too much per head for us and there were no decorations for Christmas (we are getting married in December). We would have had to do a lot to the room to get it to where we wanted. But we loved it... I think had they been $10-20 cheaper per head, we would have jumped at it. But we are very happy with where we are now.

I looked at the Riverview . For a Saturday wedding with a minimum of 100 people, they will close the restaurant down for your party from 12-5pm at $73 pp. This price included quite a bit, including floral centerpieces. If you're looking for a more casual, waterfront setting it is a very nice place, and the food is great as well!

I went to a wedding at the Riviera. The food was good and CH was great. My friend had a nice day so it was really nice, set up outside on the deck by the water. What I didn't like about that place is that if it rains, you are kind of screwed with CH...the room is really small. Also, I wasn't overly thrilled with the set up of the room. I could not see the dance floor from where my table was. But my friend had over 200 people there and I would say that was max capacity. Under 150 would probably be ideal there. My friend's pictures came out beautiful.

The Crescent is amazing. The food is great there and your pictures will be amazing.

I'm a Crescent bride and so far couldn't be happier and I'm not breaking the bank!

When do you want to get married? If you are willing to be flexible I know they will work with you. We're having a day wedding there, which we actually preferred even though it's cheaper (mainly because we want to enjoy the scenery and the day as much as possible). If you can be flexible, you might be able to get what you want and not owe $$.

almost date twin! yay!

i'm a crescent bride too and we ended up going with a sunday night because we really wanted an evening wedding but saturday was a little too pricey. i think friday nights there are even a little cheaper. and for what you get for the money, it really isn't that bad and fairly comparable or better priced than some of the other venues on the water - at least compared to the ones i looked at.

good luck in your search and welcome to the addiction!

thanks! that's a big help; i will definitely look there.

I really want to wrap this up soon... looking for May or June 2008 and dates seem to be available since i want a day wedding (to appreciate the water view).

Sans Souci bride here! (There aren't many of us I've discovered)..... I fell in love with the place as soon as I saw it, and so far things have been great. We have our meeting next week to finalize the menu, cake, and pick out linens etc...

Only downside is if it rains, it is small inside. My DJ said he's done inside ceremonies there before and it's fine, but it makes me nervous. So, I'm banking on the fact it WONT rain in July (trying not to jinx it)

That's the only obstacle I've found.....Oh, and my parents have been there for an event before - food is amazing, as is the presentation - which is a small detail but can make a big difference

Thats funny, when I went to Riverview they told us we'd have to do the wedding on their 'off' time because we can't expect them to shut down the restaurant and they wouldn't be able to accomodate 100+ people.

IMO it would be a great place for a small intimate RD but not a wedding.

a friend of mine got married at cresent beach club and loved it!! Her only complaint was at the end of the night the matre'd complained to her that her dad did not tip him enough. He gave him a large tip- but said he is more used to getting at least $5000 for the night. Other than that she said everything was absolutly perfect!! She was just upset by what happened and it happened as she was leaving so it is the last memory she has of her reception.

I really liked it also. I thought it was so pretty. We are doing the tasting this weekend and I actually thought the menu was more inclusive than the Crescent Club. How many people are you having?

I just called them. they will only do a saturday day, one wedding a week. a minimum of 100 people. which is pretty much what I want so I'm going to check it out this weekend. And I like that it's not a catering hall so I can keep my list down...

We are hoping to have around 140 - Though our guest list is now up to 165 so I'm hoping at least 20 people can't come! (isn't that horrible? haha)
Was it set up for anything when you looked at it? It was set for 100 for a bridal shower when we initially looked, and there was plenty of room...so I think 130 - 140 is a perfect size.

It was set up for a christening and it looked really pretty but i'm not sure how many guests... that's not terrible because I want to invite 135 assuming 10 won't come just to make the 125 minimums! I really don't want a big wedding. Are you having your ceremony there? My friend didn't like that the bride would go down that ramp along the side...like she wouldn't be making an entrance. that didn't bother me. She didn't like the dividing wall either but that would only go up if it rains... I hope you have a beautiful day! The view is so pretty even if it rains.

Yes we are having the ceremony there - I really wanted to get married outside, by the water, and it is just so beautiful there. And the photographer will take us down to the water at sunset to get some god pics.

Walking down that ramp doesn't bother me either. Well good luck, let me know what you decide!

The Riverview is great. I live locally, so FH didn't want our wedding there b/c we used to go drinking there like every Friday. I did go to a wedding there and loved it. Sunday Brunch there is GREAT too!!!
