Opinions please

Ok well here is the situation-

FH was sworn in to the NY bar on Wednesday - his uncle & aunt bought him a sony clie as a present. But- he already has one (i bought him one a year ago and only recently started using it) - So he told his uncle that (FH was so embarassed saying so - but his uncle looked for the receipt in his pockets and couldnt find it) Fh feels bad calling and asking for the receipt- and so he offered it to me - I feel wierd taking it though (even though i was looking to buy myself one - FH was going ot buy me one but I told him to wait until i graduated and then we'd go pick one out)

So what should we do? Do you think it is rude to call and ask for the receipt to return the gift and buy somethign else? (We also are in the market for a digital camera so that would be helpful) - OR - should i accept FH's offer and use it for myself even though it was supposed to be a gift for FH? We are open to other suggestions -

either one sounds fine. They won't get insulted if he is retuning it because he already has one. I am sure they want him to have what he wants. I think either one os fine.........

I would call them for the receipt, and explain he already has one.

I think you should return it and buy the camera, this way he can say the gift is from is aunt and uncle.
