Hi girls...I am getting married the day after Thanksgiving this year, which is Friday and the reception is from 1-6...People have said that vendors should give me discounts since its a Friday afternoon...what are your thoughts on this?

nope...a wedding is a wedding...my reception was from 1-5 and I didn't get 'discounts'....maybe the price would be cheaper than a Sat night.....

i agree with btrflygrl, there are no 'discounts.' the price may be lower then a friday evening wedding or a saturday day wedding. but i don't think they will offer you a break on the price because of the time of the reception.

I think you may get a lower price for certain things, like a DJ, but not for others like flowers. The best place to save money will be from your reception hall. And I HIGHLY suggest you send out STD since that's a travel weekend for many people.

Friday's are just generally cheaper than Saturdays. But you make be able to work with some vendors.
