opinions please...

opinions please...

I work with women that are in their 40's and 50's..I was saying about getting the engagement party favors, and one of them said to me that since FH and I are paying for the whole thing ourselves and we need to save as much as possible no one will be looking for a favor that no one needs..

I feel like alot of them are out of the loop with the 'weddings world of today'..isn't that rude if we don't give a favor?? or is it ok and I should save the $..TIA

I dont thinks its that necessary but I will be giving them as a thank you.

i think you have to. The etiquette of a favor is that it is a thank you for coming gift. I did donations to our favorite charities.. you should do that , then you can decide how much you want to give. You give what you can afford.

I'm actually doing this for the wedding. MY grandma passed away in January from a rare type of breat cancer and I want to donate to the wonderful people at the Hospice House where she stayed because they took amazing care of her and mainly run on donations..sooo yea I can't do it for the E-Party too...but thanks for the response Jam <3

I'm not sure what the etiquette is for e-parties and favors but if I was going to one I wouldn't expect a favor. If you do a favor, do something very small.

You dont have to give a favor but if you do I would do something small. A friend of mine did candy bars with custom wrappers on them and it was perfect

You don't have to do favors, but I think people expect it. Micheals has many favor cotainers for good prices and I also think dollar tree has some. Fill the containers with chocolate and you got a cheap faovr. Even if its small its a nice gesture, I don't think guests will expect a big favor.

I gave a small favor for mine. Noone really expects one. If you want to do something give out matches with your names on it or a small candle. My mom helped me- we went to A.C. Moore and got small votive candles and then michaels for the candle holders with coupons . We put sand underneath the candle and wrapped it in tulle and had ribbons printed. That was it and I HAVE SO many left over. I can send you a pic or I may have one in my albums.
