Opinions Please.. MOH's hotel costs (Prices for the hotels I visited included)

Ok here’s what happened.
I booked them at the Floral Park Motor Lodge (them being the whole family) but we drove out there this past weekend at it’s SO very very far away from EVERYTHING including the wedding. Unfortunately we already told them the prices:
Single person: $98 a night / Two people (double beds) $110 / Two adults & Kids (double beds) $121 Plus $10 for a cot my parents wanted.

Now, since then my brother has said he’s coming solo instead of bringing his wife & son. So now my parents want to save money and group them all in one room, which my brother is Ok with.

So I’m looking for a Suite for my clan and a single for my MOH. So Floral Park Motor Lodge is OUT.
Red Roof Inn (Range from $130-$160 Suite) $10 extra for a cot my parents want, IF available
WinGate (Range $179-$299 Large Suite) GORGEOUS Suites… BIG as hell! Two sofas that pull out and a King Size bed and it’s a huge room!! $5 for the cot
Hilton Garden Inn (Range $169-$179 Suite) Brand new place. Gorgeous with an actual pool and hot tub (a must for these Texans) Beautiful lobby. Rooms are new (place has only been around 4 months) and it’s two queens with a couch that pulls out, FREE cot! AAA discount gets us the rooms at $152 & $170

Ok so we booked Hilton Garden Inn (PS: you guys should go take a look Behind Bed Bath & Beyond near Fortunoff’s at the Source)

Here’s the problem: My MOH would stay solo and that means she’s gonna pay $152 (AAA discount) and we already told her it was $98. So Jim and I are thinking of eating the difference. Should we or should we just make her pay extra? She’s a single mother and trying to save cash. Should I just make this her ‘gift’?

I'd make it her 'gift' but look online. You may be able to get a chepaer pricw on orbitz or hotwire. The difference may not be so bad if you can get an online discount!

ETA: I didn't think you meant as her only gift, which I disagree with, but as an additional gift, which I agree with. Or talk to her and split the difference as below

Well she'll HAVE to stay with my parents. She knows no one else here and has been my friend since High School. She's extended family. She has no transport either.

I figured the place was too new for Orbitz discounts but it doesnt hurt to look.

then why dosent she stay in the room with them? if its only for 1 or 2 nights its not that bad... esp. since its gunna save her even more money.

NO NO NO NO THIS IS NOT HER ONLY GIFT!!
She’s like my best friend. Nah, she’s getting a Robe from Vicki’s and some fuzzy slippers and probably her jewelry on top of that. I was gonna get her something else too, but this may be the ‘gift’ instead of the ‘something else’.

See now here’s the problem. I KNOW her too well. She’s ALWAYS making me pay for her stuff. All our lives it was “hey Veronica wanna see a movie?” and when we got there I find out she has no money. She’s always been this way. Still, I have needs too. Im paying for this party and it aint cheap. But It’s not her fault so I don’t mind paying the difference in the costs…. but just wanted a second opinion. It’s kinda tough on us.

Because my parents room has two bed and a Cot plus a pull out couch and thats my parents, my twin brothers, my sister and my older brother. There's just no room for another body in that space.

In that case I would pay the difference for her and get her the other gifts as well. I think thats fair. Plus she gets to stay in an even nicer hotel.
