Opinions please***updated!

Update...

I took all of your advice and decided that I will take a vaca. i'm going to visit family, get my wedding stuff completed and relax...

Thanks lovlies!

I currently have 3 days left and a floater holiday to take off from work (total of 4 days). Since we don't have off New Years Eve, I am using it than, but than i was thinking of taking off the entire week... like christmas eve through January 1st.

Should I do this? Or do you think i'll be swamped when I get back. I am so tempted being that I have been EXTREMELY stressed and could use a break. And my supervisor said that she would approve it...

I know most of you will say Hell yes, but I want to make sure I'm not 'asking for it'.

BTW, my stress has hit an all time low. I may be bald by the wedding. THats an entirely different post...

I say yes! I am not sure about where you work but I know at my job, its kind of slow that week anyway because so many people are either off or distracted! Go for it!

A lot of my friends take off that week. I'm a teacher, so I already have the week off. I say do it. If you're really stressed, you're going to need that break! Is there any way you can check your email or do some small stuff from home? That way you won't feel COMPLETELY overwhelmed, but you also won't be at work? Or get as much done for that week as possible before you leave? (Easier said than done with the holidays, I know)

i say yes but it really depends on where you work... i did that last year because we're literally dead after xmas so it was so worth it

If you need the time off then go for it! Those days off will definatley help you relax. Everyone needs mental health days every now and then.

why don't you ask if you can carry the days over to next year? maybe take some extra time before or after the wedding off.

I think that's a great week to be off from work. You can really enjoy the holidays and relax.

Yesssss definitely do it. I am probably at the same stress level that you are and if I could do that I'd do it in a second. You may be swamped when you get back, but at least you'll be refreshed.

How has it been in other years right around that time? In a lot of jobs, it's kinda slow that week. I'd take it - you sound like you need some time away from the desk!

I definitely think you should. SO many people in my office do this. Those last few weeks are usually very slow/dead so you may not have much to catch up on when you return.

do it. nothing is life threatening that u have to finish all ur tasks the day u get back from vacation.

I say go for it, because that's a relatively quiet week anyways, so you won't come back with tons of stuff to catch up on.

Thats usually the slowest week of the year for lots of companies. I usually check my email when I'm away that long b/c at least I don't come back to hundreds of emails.

That week is always so slow I feel like I never get anything done. If I had the days I would def do it!!!!!

i have this same problem - i have 6 days to take off in december....was considering taking the week off in dec between xmas and new years BUTTTT i decided to do fridays and mondays off for the month!
