I'm faced with an option in my work hours and can't decide what to do.
Would you rather:
Work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, the usual way.
OR
Work a 40-hour week, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and have Wed, Thus. Fri and Sat off???
Yes, you would be working LONG hours on those three days, but then you'd be free for four.
What would you do??

Wow, that's tough. If the three days were all weekdays, I'd say do the long hours and get the four days off. But since one of those three days is a weekend day.... Does your FH/DH work any weekends or does he work a regular Mon - Fri job? Would it be hard for both of you to take time off together?

My DH is in the NYPD, so his days off are constantly changing.

I wouldn't for Anniegirls' reason - Sunday is DH's only full day off of work. But if it could be Mon, Tues, Wed. I would do it in a heartbeat!!!!!!

Hmmm, I really don't know. I might just keep the 5 day week so I have the weekend off all the time. Everyone is different though.

I'd rather have 4 days off and work longer hours 3 days a week, NO QUESTION!!

I used to work Tues, Wed, Thurs and Sat from 12 noon to 10:30 pm. I had off Sun, Mon and Fri. I loved my schedule. I knew that my work days would be long (especially the three in a row) but having off Friday and Monday were great!! I hated going back to a M-F 8-4:30 routine. If I had the chance I would go back to my weird hours again!

I would definitely want the four days off...I want those hours!!
I actually helped DH come up with a 4 day workweek for his workers...and they liked it so much better...
It was a huge hassle to schedule (it was a 24 hour operation), but we made sure that everyone had at least one weekend day off...
one guy mentioned how he liked having the weekday off, b/c you can get personal business done, with everyone at work...so its not as crowded or busy!

Coming from someone who has always had untraditional work hours until this past year, I would say stick with the regular work week. It becomes a hassel when you want to do things in the summer and can't because you have to work on Sundays. You'll also find that the rest of your life has to be reconfigured to fit everyone else's then. But considering you'll be working from home, it might not be so bad.
