I have always loved the Swan Club...It has more of a feel to it...the food is good there...
my sister is getting married at WCC and loves it, but I didn't like it as much, but it just shows you different strokes for different folks

How many guests are you having? Its my impression that WCC can fit more people... Just to complicate your life a bit -- I haven't seen anyone on this board talk about Cold Spring Country Club (http://www.coldspringcc.org/main.htm) which is very close to the WCC but does just one wedding.

I have to choose the Swan Club (that's where I am getting married). The food is excellent and the grounds are beautiful. As soon as we saw it, we knew it was the place for us.

Re: Opinions: Swan Club or Woodbury Country Club
My vote is for Woodbury CC.
I have been to a few events there and they did a good job. The food was good and the rooms were roomy. I feel like Woodbury is more spaced out than Swan Club (since they both have more than one event at a time).
They both have nice grounds for pictures.
When I was considering Swan Club they were very inflexible with the menu which annoyed me and they said it was due to having more than one event at a time going on.

Re: Opinions: Swan Club or Woodbury Country Club
I booked the WCC for my July 4, 2003 wedding. The place is absolutely gorgeous and the food is excellent. Their service and quality cannot be beat, but I'm biased since I already booked them.
I have heard so many good things about the WCC, that I feel very comfortable having it there.
The Swan Club is also very beautiful, and I was going to take a look at it, but after seeing 4 places I didn't want to see anymore. I was getting totally confused!
Best of luck to you! Karen

Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are you paying for the WCC and what did it include with it? If you would like to email me, it is [email protected]. Thanks so much.
I really liked it, but Sat nights are a little bit higher than what we wanted to pay. Now we are considering Fridays and Sundays.

I am having about 160-175. I think the poles in Swan Club will get in the way of some guests. What do you think?

Re: Opinions: Swan Club or Woodbury Country Club
My Pick is WCC since I'm getting married there June 23, 2002. I've heard only good things about WCC and some bad things about Swan Club. My coworker got married 10 years ago at the Swan Club and loved the place. My sister-in-law looked at both places two years for her wedding and didn't like the swan club because the grounds didn't look like it was kept up. She really liked WCC because of the food, the fountain, the gazebo but it wasn't by the beach. She instead chose Crescent Beach Club but her second choice would've been WCC. I was also told that Hilary Clinton holds her functions like fund raisers at the WCC and that the service and food is wonderful. Hope this helps you out alittle Bride 2003

I looked at the Woodbury Country Club and thought it was beautiful. Nice large rooms, and pretty grounds. They did not have the date we wanted available, so we booked elsewhere. I would choose it over the Swan Club.

Re: Opinions: Swan Club or Woodbury Country Club
I never been to Woodbury CC, but I went to Swan Club a couple years ago and I didnt really like it. My main problem was the service, it was horrible, this is at least 2 to 3 years ago, so things probably changed.
I only heard good things about the woodbury country club. good luck

Re: Opinions: Swan Club or Woodbury Country Club
never been to the swan club, but we checked out woodbury cc in our search. if you can get the room downstairs and the weather is nice, you can have the cocktail hour outside on the patio, which would be gorgeous with the setting. there are plenty of hotels nearby too. we got quoted a really good price, but ended up falling in love with milleridge cottage.

Re: Opinions: Swan Club or Woodbury Country Club
I have gone to company Christmas parties at both and they were both really good, although I liked the Swan Club a little better, food and atmosphere. I think either will end up being a good choice. Let us know what you decide.
