Opinons on these three bands

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this board and new to Long Island. Thats why i really need some help with choosing my wedding band.
I've met with three places this week.
1. central park orchestras
2. Faze Four
3. Hank Lane

All had their pros/cons, but since I'm not from around here - I haven't 'heard' much about them.

I thought central park orchestras were very classy. the guy is AWesome, we got along great. seems like he'll go out of his way to please you. Watched a video only of the band. it was ok, but i couldn't really gauge the 'energy' level of the band. vocals were average- i wasn't falling over.

Faze four. got to see a live showcase. The vocals were AWESOME!! i mean i was falling over here. The band's appearance though is not as classy or upscale as the other places I've seen. Though, they seem liek they will rock the place. Energy was awesome. but the guy who would be doing our contract seems like a total arrogrant jerk. not the best in his customer service dept.

Hank Lane. was unable to see the band?? pretty upset about that. listened to a cd- they sound good. but can't see the energy level or appearance. although the woman assured me they were classy looking and neatly appearance. This place was the LEAST expensive of the three. and appears to give you the most. the amont of songs in the 4 hours is higher than the other two places. also, my reception location does recommend this band. but then again, all three places are popular and have pretty good reputations.
Does anyone have experience with these bands?
All i want is a band that is going to rock my wedding. i want guests to be dancing the night away.
Thanks for any help.

I've heard amazing things about Faze four. I didn't see them myself but a friend of mine said it was the best band they have ever seen at a weddding. They are very very pricey though.

central park and faze four were the same amount.
hank lane was about 1,000 less...

roughly they are within the same range.

There are about 10 bands represented by Faze Four. The main band is the Original Faze Four and they are very pricey. The other 9 bands vary in number of pieces and prices pretty dramatically.

I'm using one of their bands for my wedding. The contract should be signed in a few days and then I'll let everyone know which band. I just want it to be official first (and so nobody steals them from me!)

I definitely recommend going in to meet with the owner. Listen to the bands online and come in with a 'top 3' or so to price - totally worth your time! You can check out up to 10 bands at once!!!

The prices vary on what you are getting. I wanted the original Faze 4 but they were booked. They are the most expesive company on LI but I think they are worth it.

The band makes the party. Just make sure you understand what is included in the price. Faze4 usually charges more for ceremony and cocktail hour. I was going to go with Christopher Michaels before I found my band..Soul Street. their energy is out of this world and they have a great appearance.

We were between Faze 4 and Hank Lane. Each band company has several bands to choose from ranging in price - from the Original Faze 4 and Harris Lane charging like $25,000 on down to bands under $10,000. Like you, I found the owner of Faze 4 to be arrogant and rude. And like you, I was very frustrated by Hank Lane's policy of only showing you pictures and a taped recording. It felt very deceptive and when we asked our rep for more info, he always gave us shady answers. Plus man were they full of themselves.

In the end, we went with Scott Yanney at Faze 4 because we were able to see a DVD of them perform and because we ulimately dealt with Faze 4's rep in NYC, Joan, who was sweet and able to answer questions.

We couldn't find any info on the Hank Land band Fifth AVe that we were interested in and we wondered if they're not a real set band but rather something they throw together for each event. We felt that Hank Lane really caters to super high end Manhattan weddings and that going with their lowest priced bands (under $10,000) could be a risk . Other than the Original Faze 4, ALL of Faze 4 bands are under $10,000 plus theyre more of a LI band company. We just felt more comfortable with Faze 4. And it was too risky putting the whole vibe of our wedding on some pictures and an audio recording

Btw if you went to a live Faze 4 showcase, was it the Next Faze? From their DVD they seem unbelievable vocally.

I met with Hank Lane, and once we heard that we couldn't see them live i said forget it. I'm not planning on spending $15,000 for a band that can't accomidate their customers. You never know what they edit on the DVD and what they don't. I don't go by word of mouth...I know people say they were happy with Hank Lane,..and maybe they were, but everyone has different taste. To us it was too much money to just say 'hey, sure we will book because they sound great on their DVD!'
