Opinons please....

Opinons please....

I could use some opinions ladies....

1. Is it weird to not have any flower girl or ring bearer?

2. Is it horrible to have a 24 person bridal party? 12 on each side?

3. What about leaving off one of my FH's sisters? she has a young child and we just think that she would rather be with her than doing bridal party stuff. But we are not sure how FH's family will feel about it and honestly, what's one more when the number is that big!?

4. What is this deal with wedding packages for limos? That is my last big thing and I've been researching on here for suggestions. Everyone says to not get the wedding package with the aisle runner and stuff b/c it will cost less. if you don't get the aisle runner from the limo guys, who supplies it? Also, what else comes in this wedding package?

thanks so much!

Hi!! I don't think its weird at all; lots of people don't have FGs or RBs (either no wee family members OR they want adults only, fine either way).
A few years ago there was a service that would let you RENT a flower girl/ring bearer -- now THAT'S weird!

Nothing horrible about a 24 person bridal party BUT i can't imagine the logistics! Between transportation, fittings, limos, photos on the wedding day, gifts, etc. -- just know that EVERY element will take more in terms of dollars or time - or both!!

I'd let your FSIL make the call about whether she'd love to be in the BP or not; you may be right, but there's always a chance she'll be hurt? So if its the same to you, let her decide!

Ah limos, the final frontier for me as well; sorry no research done there as yet!!

Let's see...No, I dont think it's weird to not have a FG or RB. I've been to weddings that didn't have any or just had an FG.

You can have however many people in your BP as possible. I haven't looked into limo packages yet, but seeing what others have mentioned, you might want to consider speaking with limo companies that have party buses to accommodate everyone.

If you're not sure about FH's sister, ask her. Tell her you'd be honored to have her as one of your BMs but want to make sure she'll be okay leaving her daughter with someone else to watch during the ceremony & reception like grandparents or an aunt or uncle.

Before you just assume that one of FH's sisters doesn't want to be in the bridal party make sure you talk to the family about it. I would just hate for her to be upset and cause more stress on your big day.
I also don't think it is a bad idea to not have a RB or FG. It's your choice.
Good Luck!

1. No, it's not weird, do what you want.

2. Well, it does seem like a lot, but as long as you don't keep everyone from eating for a half hour as you introduce everyone, it's your wedding, do what you want.

3. Ask her before you do it. Don't assume she'd rather not do it, find out. She might not want to be left out, young child or not.

4. No idea, sorry! Except that my RH provided an aisle runner (we were married at the venue.)

Re: Opinons please....

Thank you all so much! Originally we were going to talk to my FIL first but I think the best thing is to go straight to my FSIL. Truth is, we don't even want kids at the reception but my FSIL already made a comment about her daughter being there and she and my cousin (w/ 3 kids) are both from out of town and will have no where to leave them. So that's that it seems. In the big scheme of things 5 kids not a big deal when there are 300 adults. I just don't want to be searching for my FSIL or my cousin during pictures to find they are busy with the kids. (Don't get me wrong, me and my FH LOVE kids, we jsut don't necessarily think they belong at a fancy sat evening wedding)

I guess I'll check w/ the church about the aisle runner, or i'll order my own?? Maybe the florist or photo guys will have? Guess I have to start another question list!

Thanks for the advice and listening. Sorry for the thinking out loud...just a very sensitive subject. Luckily my FH and I are in the same boat about the kids thing.

1. Not it's not weird...I don't have a flower girl

2. That is a LARGE BP but it's your wedding...there's no right or wrong there!

3. I'd hve her make that decision.

4. You can buy an aisl runner from AC Moore or Michaels pretty cheap.

It's not weird to not have a RB or a FG. Some people either just don't want to have one or don't know of any kids to be one.

Although the BP is large, it is your wedding. And if it means a lot to both you and your FH to include these people, then go for it.

You should ask FSIL first because she might be hurt and who knows...she might want to be in it.

Considering the amount of people you have, you should talk to a limo company about a party bus maybe....

Re: Opinons please....

I think it is fine to have no FG or RB. We are not, so I might be biased.

This is JMO: As for a 24 person wedding party, here are my words of advice. That many people in your party is going to cost you a small fortune. Figure buying gifts for them alone is between 50-100 per person, which will put at about 2000 for gifts alone. If you have the money though go for it.

1. Nope...many people dont have a flower girl or ring bearer. Actually FH and I wont be having either at our wedding

2. You can have as many people as you want in your bridal party

3. If you're going to leave FH's sister out of the bridal party, why not ask her to do a special reading or have another special role

4. Not a clue on this one...sorry!

1. I'm not having either! I just don't know any kids that age!

2. I've heard of many bridal parties that large, just be ready to pay for those flowers and limos and gifts!

3. I'd ask FH's sister. Tell her you will not be offended if she doesn't want to because of her chilld, but that if she does want to you'd love to have her.

4. Don't know about wedding package for limos, sorry!
