Does anyone know if getting ordained online is legal in NY? We would love to have our friend get ordained and perform the ceremony.
I looked up online who can marry us, but it is a little unclear about the online ministry.

I am pretty sure it is. Why don't you contact the online ministry you are considering and ask if they know. Or you can contact your local city hall and ask for clairfication as well.

My mom (MOB08) was ordained online. Apparently, with my brother's wedding in NYshe was nervous about the officiant showing up (long story).
She didn't end up using it, but if she did, it would have been legal. I'll ask email this thread to her and ask her to get back to you, or just FM her. She'd be happy to tell you how she did the ordination.
