Order of procession

Order of procession

Sorry, but does FH walk down the aisle too? I'm sure his mom would love to walk down the aisle with him as well ... I'm trying to figure out the order of the procession at the church ... do they go first or the bestman goes first?

Any help is much appreciated!!

TIA

i thought that the bestman is standing up at the alter with the groom? and the MOH walks in alone after the bridesmaids and b4 the flowerigrls?

Every wedding is different. Jewish tradition the groom walks in with his parents. For most church weddings I've been to, the groom waits up front with the Best Man.

For the majority - this is the order I noticed:

Groom's parents
MOB & uncle (if MOB doesn't walk with bride)
Bridemaids and groomsmen
Ring bearer
Flower girl
MOH
Bride

I am not doing that at all because I have mixed numbers.

My FH decided he doesn't want to walk with his parents. I have 2 MOH and 2 groomsmen, plus his Best Man

So, my FH and BMan will wait at the alter

His parents
Little groomsman w/ older flower girl - each holding lit candles
Junior bridesmaid w/ unlit unity candle
MOH1 w/ groomsman
MOH2 w/ groomsman
Ring Bearer and Flower girl (who will hopefully drop rose petals)
Me and my parents

The two groomsmen we had acting as ushers waited up front.
Best Woman came in carrying handfasting tartan.
DH escorted his mother,
DH's brother escorted my mother,
Bridesmaids
MOH
Me & Dad.

Re: Order of procession

Typically either the Groom and the Groomsman stand in front... or Groom can walk down the aisle with mother first, followed by Bridesmaids matched with Groomsmen. It typically goes least important to most important ( i don't mean that in a mean way)... but bridesmaids go first with groomsmen and then best man with maid of honor.... then THE BRIDE and her father enter last.

Its opposite for Recessional... so its easy... Bride and Groom are announced they exit followed bu Maid of Honor and Best Man.... then Bridesmaids & Groomsmen... then brides fam... grooms fam
and everyone else....

Hope that clears it up!

that's what I thought for the recessional part - the bride and groom go first, but what's the receiving line? Don't they wait for you to come out and blow those wedding bubbles etc then? So that would mean that they go first during recession?? i'm so confused!!

Re: Order of procession

I believe that after you exit you form a line at the entrance of the church/ceremony site (on the inside foyer ares) aka the receiving line. You greet everyone as the exit. Once they are outside they get rose petals, bubbles etc. and wait till the bride and groom to exit last... then they throw petals.. blow bubbles etc.

At least that is my understanding of it all.
