I don't know. I know i'm not skinny and I know I have very broad shoulders for a girl but.............size 22? I wear a street size 10 and by the time the wedding comes I should be back down to a 6. But a size 22!!!
My concern is how is she going to alter a dress from a size 22 to a size 10 waist?
Did anyone elses dress run way larger than what they really wear or am I the only biggin' in the bunch!?

Re: Ordered my dress
Sweetie, welcome to my world
I am a street size 10 and I got a size 18 dress
Don't even worry about it. I have learned that it is insane how these #'s run. My sister is a stick figure, wears a street size 2 and got a 8 in her BM dress
I don't know how big your 'Girls' are either, but I went up 2 dress sizes for that alone

Re: Ordered my dress
wow - are you sure you were measured correctly? That sounds like a huge jump. I guess some designers are worse than others, but I hate that you now have to pay for plus size when YOU'RE NOT PLUS SIZE!
I'm the same size as you, and when i ordered my dress, I had to go up in size a little too - but only 2 sizes, not 6!
Size is just a friggen number anyway. You are going to be ONE GORGEOUS BRIDE!

My hips are about a size 8 but waist and chest are like a 4 or a 6. so i know how u feel. heres some more . also dont worry about the size its just a number. who cares what size it is, you're going to look beautiful!!!

ETA: My dress is a mori lee as well, and I was inbetween a 12 and 14, because of my chest. She told me it was best to order the 12. I have since lost weight and I'm down a full dress size.

Hey Nic, just to let you know, my friend Lisa who got married last Sept is usually a size 4 in a regular dress, but they ordered her a size 16!!! She was freaking out for months and when it came down to her alterations, she finally calmed down a bit. So, I know she's not in the same boat as you as for size, but in dress circumstances, she is. Don't worry about it...I'm sure they know what they're doing. HTH

Oh no! Don't worry about the size at all! I hear a size 2 normally is a size 8-10 in wedding gowns. It means nothing! No worries.

Re: Ordered my dress
I think it is the same way for most girls.
A friend of mine (who is so petite, a little twig) is a size 2/4 normally- she was a 12!!!!!!!!!! She almost fell over when they told her- but her gown designer ran very small. My question is who the hell could fit into the 2/4 gown?? B/c my friend is so little- I can't imagine anyone being thinner then her!! It's amazing...
I was a size 8 in my dress and I'm normally a six so my designer, luckily, did not jump that much-- so that was good. But it's tuff!

Re: Ordered my dress
the sizing part of ordering your gown is really deflating! i to order my gown two sizes larger than what i usually wear, and i was really close to it being 3 sizes bigger. the salon actually made me promise that i wouldn't gain so much as a pound before the wedding! ouch!
Believe it or not I had a breast reduction in 97 Those sistas were huge!
OK.... I def feel better knowing that these dresses can sometimes run that big. I knew it would be big but I was just shocked that it was 12 sizes bigger. I guess Phylis knows what she's doing. I will just put my faith in her
THANK YOU LADIES!!!!

They can always make things smaller but bigger you run into a problem
You will make a very pretty no matter what size the label says! You know know your true size and beauty

Re: Ordered my dress
I have heard that you cannot go by your street size when ordering a wedding dress. Doesn't it suck!

Re: Ordered my dress
your not along i wear an 8 or 10 normally but my dress was ordered for a 14... i have a huge chest too (not to toot my own horn, i very much hate it at times lol) so if it fit my waist it didn't fit my chest. I've lost 31lbs as well in the last 8 months and plan to loose more by the wedding so I'm hoping the dress isn't messed up when they take it in
