Ordering BM dresses separately?

Good morning!

I have a question -- One of my BMs wants to order her BM dress on her own at a store close to her, so it'll be easier for her to get alterations done once the dress is in. i just wanted to see if anyone has done this, and if there were any problems. I know traditionally you'd order all the dresses at the same time from the same place.

The only thing that would happen if you ordered them at different places at different times is that the dresses might not come from the same dye lot. Honestly though, if this happened I doubt the color would be so different that anyone would notice.

color lots can vary, and that would make me worry.

if there is going to be some kind of variation in the dresses, you can do it with no problem. but if you want them to look the same, i'd be wary.

The 'industry' says that you should order them together so the fabric is all cut from the same dye lot.

whether this really makes a huge difference, don't know, but I didn't chance it.
