ordering invitations
i found invitations that I love on line and want to get a sample and then order them. the wedding isn`t until mid-oct, is it too soon to have invitations printed you think? also, i think this was just answered, but what do you guys think of listing the reception place and time under the church and time on the actual invitation rather than having reception cards? the invitation isn`t a very formal one, and it`s a good way to save about a hundred bucks...thanks!

For our late September wedding, we ordered out invitations in late April. Definitely get the sample now. We went to Bridal Boutique in Massapequa Park, and were amazed at how many invitations we just didn`t like the quality of. By getting the sample now, it will give you a little time if you end up wanting to search for something else. You might want to consider getting some other sample too, just in case .. or going to a place that has hundreds of invitations to look through. Party City also has lots of books to look through. Tony at Bridal Boutique was exceptionally helpful, especially when it came to wording and quantity, and our invitations came in about one week after we gave the okay on the proof. Also, just think, the earlier you get your invitations, the more time you have to pace yourself through the whole process of putting them all together and addressing them. I have seen invitations where the reception card was skipped, and in my opinion it`s fine .. but it`s what you think that counts.

I agree - get the invites as early as you can. If you don't like the sample it leaves you enough time to look around for something else. Good luck!

We just ordered our invites and we are also a mid Oct. date
I also figured this leaves us time to play arround with them. We actually placed the order and will receive them in about 6-8 weeks. It also gives us time to finalize our guest list and have the envelopes printed. We are planning to send them out at the beginning of aug. with a responce date of early sept. because many of my FH's family are from out of this country and need time to decide/plan a trip. I think it is a great idea to print everything in one invitation. Less to loose! :O )

I already have mine for our 10/5/02 wedding.
Now that it's already done it's one less thing that we have to worry about.
