I wanted to get your opinions on ordering a wedding band online.
I had been browsing online for wedding bands for FH and came across one that he is now kinda hooked on.
It's a 14K white gold wedding band made in Dublin (it's a Claddagh wedding band). I know he would have most likely just gotten a plain band with no design on it but once I showed this to him he actually really liked it. He likes the idea that it's different.
We are not going to be ordering bands anytime soon but I was just wondering if you would trust ordering something online, without ever having him try it on or seeing the quality firsthand before purchasing? This is my only hestitation with ordering this ring.
I would look at a few things first Is it from a reputable site? What's their return policy? Any reviews on the company that you can find

Definitely check the BBB rating. I'm probably going to end up ordering online.

DH ordered my ering from James Allen . com and it's gorgeous!!! I needed it resized, and was able to go to their corporate office that happens to be in manhattan to do it. They shipped it back to me lickity split. We were very pleased working with them!
DH ordered his wedding band from blue nile . com and we love it! He just got a plain platinum band and used their printable sizer to figure out his ring size. The ring he got is perfect and he loves it.

personally, i think i'd rather pay a little more and see it in person before shelling out the money ... but that's just me
if it's a reputable internet company with good customer service and allows returns, it should be ok .... especially if you can find reviews about the ring & company

DH got his band online...it was super easy and the company was great...we have no complaints. I think getting a man's band online is a lot easier than a woman's band. ALthough my E ring was purchased from Blue Nile.com! Also no complaints there!

depends on the website. if it's a reputable online store, i would definitely purchase from it.

I ordered mine and FH rings online through Amazon (but actually through Reeds Jewelers) I got a great price for both rings and they were exactly what we were looking for. I had done it last year on Black Friday weekend and I got my ring 75% off!

Ordering things online are GREAT! I bought everything (rings, dress, etc) online.
Do they have it in stores where you can check the quality & sizing first? If you haven't seen it--the customer reviews (like on amazon & overstock) can be really helpful. Make sure before you buy it that there is a return policy (especially if the ring cannot be resized!)

If you want to look for that kind of ring and see it in person, there's a shop in Rockville Centre called Kathleens of Donegal, I got some Irish rings there in the past and they have really nice stuff. Otherwise we got our bands at Gennaro Jewelers in Bellmore and they have a good amount of Irish type stuff also. Really like the ring!!
