organizing guest list and addresses

organizing guest list and addresses

So I'm at a point where I want to log the addresses and legal names (our excel list now looks like 'grandma, mom, cousin Brian, Uncle Pat, etc...'). I should be sending out STD's soon so I'd also like an easy way to figure out how many I should send out since I'll be sending one 'per household'. When all is said and done I'd like to do some sort of a mail merge for labels. Where is everyone logging this information? In excel? Is there some sort of a template that might be helpful with all this? Any info is greatly appreciated!
TIA!

I found theknot.com to be very helpfull with my guest list you put all info into the spreadsheet they provide and you can export to excel. Please let me know if you have any questions

We used Excel--I find it's easiest to do a mail merge from there....just do separate columns for each item that would go to the mail merge (proper name, address line 1, address line 2, etc.)

FH and I are using excel.. I used last name for the first colum so its alphabetized, name, mailing name, street, city/town, State, Zip, Number invited and guest of (bride or groom).. I found it to be very helpful and easy to find what I needed! Hope this helps... BTW: if you do this layout, make sure to change it to a landscape or it won't fit.. Good Luck!

I've used excel as well. Makes it easy because then I can have a column for like invites to the e-party, shower, rehearsal dinner and columns next to those with the RSVP response.

We did everything in excel. My FH is an excel wiz and knows how to do all sorts of cool things with it to help us stay organized. We have sections for those who sent us engagement gifts and what the gift was, a checklist of thank yous we sent out, and a check list for announcements we sent out.
