I'm actually about to start it. Why are you thinking of going back to the pill?

I quit it after 2mos.

Infection
Vaginal dryness
sore breast
loss of appetite
mood swing
loss of sex drive

Too much to lose for safe sex, I am now using Yasmin and it is heaven sent

I also had those same symptoms for years while on the pill. I never tried the patch though. I can't believe how much better I feel not being on BC right now. We're not planning on having children yet, but I don't want to try anything else right now. But like Shamma said, I have heard good things about Yasmin.

I know Yabbobay (Erica) is or was using the patch and had a post about it a while back. Search and you will find more about her experiences.

I've actually been on the patch for about one year...and I've been raving about it a lot...however, I too am thinking of going off it!

Yes, I do love the fact that I NEVER have to worry about missing a pill (that happened a lot, and then that horrible break through bleeding!).

However, I am finding that I get VERY depressed right before and during my period, to the point that I cry for absolutely no reason. This is happening more and more. I also notice huge mood swings.

I'm going to talk to my GYN about these things, but I think it's probably best for me to go back on the pill, even though I hated it.

I thought about that shot people get every three months, but my GYN talked me out of that because many women complained of very bad mood swings, and sometimes severe bleeding, or no bleeding.

Good luck.

I just went off the patch last week. I have very sensitive skin, so when I took it off, I had huge red marks on my butt (where I wore it) that did not go away. I also found that I had more cramping right before my period, which I never had before.

P.S. I also tried Jasmin and I really did not like it at all. It made me feel bloated and uncomfortable all the time.

Re: ortho evra patch

there was a really good thread about this a few months ago - i think on the newlywed board. i think the opinion was evenly split. i've been on the pill for years without incident, but now the insurance co. requires me to take the generic of ortho cyclen which i hate!!!! i am also debating going on the patch - although my sex drive is low enough, if it goes any lower, FI is going to call off the wedding

Mary, I find that to be funny b/c they tout Yasmin for lessening bloating b/c of all the water it lets you release, I guess every woman's body is different. If this had given me any problems it would straight back to nothing.

It's true, everyone is different. Regarding the patch, it was my husband that told me to stop using it; he said that those red welts on my behind would look pretty funny in a bathing suit.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do, I think I need to give it another month before I decide to go back on the pill
