OT - Does anyone know this place? Suffolk question
LOL, I am beginning to think I am crazy but here it goes....does anyone know of a place in Suffolk, a park that has this area that looks like a bamboo forest? I think it's in the East Setauket/Stonybrook area. No one I have asked seems to know what I am talking about so I will appeal to you ladies to help restore my sanity. I went there a few years ago with my ex-boyfriend who had a house in E Setauket. I was living in the city and wasn't very familiar with LI at the time which makes it harder to recall exactly where we were. I remember there was a lake there also (describes every other park in the USA! it also had a playground hahaha) Help!

Well I grew up in East Setauket -- I'm not sure about bamboo kind of place. There is the Setauket Mill Pond which has a pond and there is a path going all around it.
Then there is the Stony Brook Duck Pond which is much more open.
But I don't know of any place with a playground.
I'll keep thinking but I'm really not sure the location you are talking about.

Hey there! You might be talking about the Frank Melville Memorial Park in Old Field. It's a sanctuary and when you follow the trails, it leads you to a bamboo forest. It's off of 25A-it's a left turn. Follow the signs to Old Field. It's on the right side-next to the Post Office.
