Our bid was accepted!

I don't want to say to much because I don't want to jinks anything..but we fell in love with a house Friday and put a bid on it!!! Yeah! The inspector is coming to see the house on Friday...what happens after that? Signing a contract? Then what? I am worried that something might go wrong!!! AHHH!! I don't know what we were thinking, buying a house and planning a wedding in the same year!! It is all so exciting!!!




I think I need some house dust....

Our lawyer is looking at the info on the house..is that what you mean? I'm not sure what attorney review is...I'm clueless!!

it is when both parties attorneys review the contract to see if it is acceptable to both sides. Don't worry - i am still learning too! It's not easy!

This has been our process so far
1- bid was accepted
2- inspection
3- lawyer received contracts from sellers attorney
4- address any concerns from inspection, clauses added to contract based on these concerns
5- we signed contracts / attorney orded title search to see if any liens are placed on the home
6- Sellers signed contracts
7- contact bank (they wouldnt do anything until they had teh contract)
8- fill out bank paperwork
9- WAIT
10 - house appraisal
11- files go to banks under writer
This is where we are right now, we are scheduled to close June 1

Its a long process and not overly enjoyable to be honest! It a matter of constantly contacting people to make sure everythign is on track to close on time! You really do have to stay on top of the bank especially.

Just try to be patient and calm during it all!

WOW! That is a lot! Thank you!

I don't want to say where the house is right now...I guess I'm superstitious...I'll feel better when things are a little more settled. We haven't even told our close friends and family what is going on...

Thank you all for your well wishes!! We want to make sure that we do everything right because we really love this house!!!

Thats understandable! I know how you feel, we had this deal fall apart once and be delayed for a month too....So you just never know! I wasnt telling anyone until our contracts were signed!
Its just a long process, we had our inspection on February 21st just a few days after we had our bid accepted, a second time....
Buying in NY is so much fun!!!

Everything went well! There are two major things but they can be fixed...the house had termites at one point and the oil tank needs to be filled in and put above ground. Both of those things can be fixed. Other than those two things everything looks great!
