It's a very pretty dress, but honestly my first reaction was 'It's huge!' Show it to your bridesmaids and if they like it, go for it, but make sure they will be comfortable in a big ballgown. I couldn't even wear one to my own wedding, that's how uncomfortable I feel in them.

Yeah, I share your sentiments with the poofyness simply because I am now having difficulty choosing my dress... I always wanted a ballgown dress, but if the BMs dresses are big as well I think it will be overkill...

If the crinoline isn't built in to the dress then you could just have them wear it with no slip or with a small slip.

That's a good point. My dress is A-line but kinda poofy and I put my girls in a long dress that doesn't stay flat but does not poof out either. Remember if you all have a limo not everyone may fit! Pick out your dress first and then get the BM dress, you might be surprised what you end up choosing as your wedding dress!

It's a bit poofy for me. Get your dress first, then look at BM dresses.
Another thought: You said 5 will wear it one way and 5 will wear it another way. Be careful about this, especially if you want them to alternate! Right now you have 10 BM, but things can change by next year. I had 2 of my 7 drop out for various reasons. And every wedding I've been in, BM dropped out for various reasons. At my brother's wedding a BM dropped out the day before because her best friend was in a horrifible car accident in Georgia.
It's great when you plan, but you can't plan for everything.

I agree, I think their bridesmaid-poof will take attention away from you and your bride-poof! Definitely choose your dress first and then choose something complimentary for them to wear.

To be completely honest.... i'm not a fan. I just think that #1- your dress should be the WOW dress and these BM dresses will take away from that, #2- i don't know how old your bm's are, but i would feel like i was 12 years old at a debutant ball, not a wedding & #3- how on earth would they be able to dance in that? That's just MHO.

i agree... it is very pretty, but i feel like too many eyes will go to their dresses instead of yours. too overpowering, maybe. you don't want to chance being overshadowed on your wedding day!! JMO.

i think it is very victorian & elegant :) everyone has there own style & this is yours, so if you love them then get them! I do however agree in the fact that you should find your dress FIRST. After finding my dress ( that was totally different than what i had in my head) I found BM dresses that match certain applicaes in mine which resulted in building a GEORGOUS theme for the whole wedding... keep it in mind to find YOUR dream dress, and then build from there. You dont wanna go for these dresses & then find a dress you LOVE & then totally doesnt mesh with the BM's.
