Our Engagement Story... share!
Hello everyone, I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas!!! I know I did... it was so amazing to be with family to celebrate our engagement. I still feel like we're not done celebrating.
My brother in law's brother and his girlfriend just got engaged yesterday also, and I was so excited!!! I feel like now that I am engaged I just LOVE hearing about engagement stories and I am so happy and of course LOVEEEE TO see rings!!!!!
Anyway I wanted to share our story and hopefully you will share yours! Sorry this is kind of long!
on 12/22 (Tues), My FH and I had dinner reservations at Rolf's in the city... if any of you are familiar you will know that they go CRAZY decorating for the holidays and I was dying to take him there, since we both love Christmas so much. Now this place is known for their decorations, but not their service or food. So a few hours before we were supposed to leave, FH was acting like he really didn't want to go. I was getting SO PISSED! I was looking forward to going for so long and he kept saying how he didn't want to go there, bad food, bad service, etc. SO he kept insisting that we go to this restaurant on LI (Teller's), which happens to be where we had our very first date 5 years ago (on Valentine's Day). Well I got so pissed again. I kept complaining that I didn't want to drive an hour out to LI for dinner, why does he always have to change our plans etc, etc. SO finally I agreed to go.
WE had an amazing dinner (never mind the fact that he kept on complaining how HOT it was in there! Lol.) Right before we order dessert, I noticed that he was acting kind of weird. He kept inching closer to me on the bench (another clue, they gave us this huge booth for just the 2 of us). His face got all red and he started talking about 'us,' saying, ' So, it's been 5 years huh? We have had our ups and downs and I love you very much.' I got this very strange feeling in the pit of my stomach... KWIM?! I asked him, 'Are you up to something?' I should have known what he was about to do but was in disbelief. I kept dismissing it by telling myself there's no way he went out and bought a ring and planned this!!!!!
So I felt like I was going to pass out, when he reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring box!!! AHHH! He opened it and placed it on the table and asked, 'I wanted to know if you would marry me.' The first things out of my mouth? 'Um are you joking?' HA! I didn't even know what to think or say, I don't think it processed! I kept asking, 'Are you sure? Are you serious?' And he just said, 'Yes, I want to know if you would be my wife.' Well my boyfriend is the type of guy that NEVER gets lost for words, he's the most confident and smooth talking guy I know. So for him to stumble over his words and get nervous is really saying something! Haha SO finally I said, ' I don't know what to say!' haha and he said 'You could say yes.' And of course I did.
I have never felt so giddy before, I felt like I was on our first date again. I feel like these past few days have started over our relationship and it's so exciting and new again. I can't even describe the feeling but I am sure you ladies can relate!!!
