Hi everyone! We visited Larkfield Manor and Milleridge Inn. Unfortuneately we didnt like either place. Frank at Larkfield Manor was very difficult to deal with. The place itself was ok...when we walked in there was a really funny smell (dont know what it was LOL). The rooms seemed nice but I overall I was not really impressed. The people at the Milleridge Inn were great to deal with...very thorough. The menu and price was great but I did not like the room. We looked at the Carriage House since we will be having a about 80 to 100 people. I didnt like how the ceromony, cocktail hour, and reception would be held in the same room. The room seemed really small to fit 100 people comfortable. The woman there said that the cottage would be too big for our size party. A little disappointing but the search continues

I thought a beautiful smaller hall was the GEORGE WASHINGTON MANOR. I think the room is lovely with all the windows. It's a more old fashioned style building, but I loved it. They had a great menu too.
We were having too many guests though.
And its owned by the same people as the Milleridge so the service, menu, etc, might be similar. ( although i've never been, I'm jsut guessing)

Check out the North Ritz Club in syosset, I'm having 100 people in August, they do one wedding at a time, the place is very spacious and classy, In October they may even be able to do a minimum of 90 people...check them out, the Fox hollow has a smaller room, metropolitan can accomodate smaller weddings.
They told me a minimum of 150 in November...Strange!
Maybe it's more because it's closer to xmas. It might have gone up because of business.
That's almost never the case. For most places the slow time is after October, and the very slow times are January/Feb/March. You never know though I guess.
This was what they told me over the phone for a Friday night. Nothing to lose to make the call though.

Re: Our first day looking at halls....
Try the Riviera at Massapequa or Sans Souci. Both are beautiful and on the water. They both accomodate smaller parties, though I think Riviera has a higher minimum than you are looking at. Woodbury Country Club works with your number in terms of a minimum, so you might be able to work with them for the upstairs room. Also North Ritz quoted me a 175 minimum for a Friday Sept 05. Also, as someone said, some places will work with you if you have a smaller number, but the price per person might be higher to make up for it. Oh, Stewart Manor Country Club might be good for you too. It's pretty. Don't get discouraged, you'll find your place.
I agree that the George Washington Manor is great for smaller weddings. Also try Crest Hollow Country Club (that's where I was married).

Re: Our first day looking at halls....
We are shooting for ~100 guests and also were very disappointed with the initial search. We chose LouisXVI because we want fantastic food...
