Our first session with our Pastor . . .

Our first session with our Pastor . . .

FH and I had our first 'official' meeting with our Pastor on Saturday. We discussed many things, how the ceremony would go, all the different options we have. I'm happy to say that the Pastor was warm, kind and open to personalizing the ceremony for us. We had a very good feeling there.
I asked him if he could say some words of dedication for my deceased Mother, and he said of course, and sampled what he could say. Of course sappy me started breaking down
He was very sweet, and got me tissue and said it was alright, while FH rubbed my back and held me. It was very touching. I hope I don't do that at the ceremony

Anyway, to start our counseling, he gave us a couple of surveys to fill out. He told us the most important thing is to be open and honest when going over it. He said we should do it together and promise each other first not to argue, but to keep lines of communication open.
We will discuss our answers with him at the next session.

So I have to say, it went very well. Now, I just need to remember to ask him if I can have rose petals thrown. I forgot

Thanks.
Yes, the session really solidified what we're doing, and the seriousness of it all. I think both FH and I both thought about the huge step we're taking and are very happy.
