Miss Kitty was not herself all weekend. FH brought her to the vet this morning and they said she is very sick. They said she is dehydrated and it might be her liver. They are going to run tests today and keep her on an IV. FH is hysterical crying at home. This is his baby, he has had her her since birth. The bills are incredibly high as well. The tests alone are costing over $1000. But what are we to do, she is our baby. I just feel so bad that I am at work and can't be with FH. He is so upset, it hurts calling him and hearing him cry. That alone makes me cry. Please say a quick little prayer for Miss Kitty that she is OK and comes home soon. Thank you.

Jaime - Glad Miss Kitty is doing a bit better. I do not think you are crazy at all but I know what you mean about some people who are not pet people and just don't get it. Hope you can enjoy your Thanksgiving tomorrow. And I bet she'll love the turkey!! Me & my three dogs will keep the good thoughts going!

You are definately NOT crazy!!! DH and I were total wrecks about our little baby. I totally thought of her as another member of our family.

I'm so glad she is doing better! It sounds like she's a tough girl who can pull through this.
Our two cats are members of our family - I totally understand how you feel, it is not silly at all!

My heart is breaking for both of you during this painful experience. I can totally sympathize .. I lost my 'growing up' cat to cancer five years ago, just a couple of weeks before Christmas (he was 11 .. soon to be 12) .. his last couple of months were rough before the ultimate decision had to be made .. and even though it's five years later .. and some people would think it's silly of me to still feel sadness .. I don't care. The special bond between a human and an animal is truly unique .. some people just don't get it .. and that's their loss.
My thoughts and good wishes are with you for Miss Kitty.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!
Well, the doctor just called and they ran tests on Miss Kitty today. He said her toxins were a little better, but she was still very sick, but showing slight improvement. He also told us that she had a seizure today. She is ok and recovering from that. He said it is normal when they are sick like this to have seizures. We are both just so down in the dumps today. I have been crying all day. We don't even feel like going anywhere. We just want to get our baby better. I am thankful that she is still hanging in there and fighting. The doctor said the next 24 hours will tell us alot about whether she will improve or not. So its basically a waiting game now. We are going up to visit her at 5:00 tonight and we are going to bring her some turkey. I will update agin tonight. Thank you again for all your prayers and support and for sharing all your stories. It really has meant a lot. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Jaime

Ou prays are with you and Miss Kitty. I had cats all my life until last March. I miss them and know how much they mean to you. I am sure Miss Kitty knows how much you love and miss her.

GOOD NEWS!!! We just got back from the vet and Miss Kitty has improved greatly. She was very alert today, she bathed herself while we were there, she ate today, she was drinking a bit and she was purring like crazy. We are sooo happy. The vet told us that some of her toxins were still a little high and they are going to retest them tomorrow. They said she will never be 100% again, but with lots of care and treatment she still has a few good years ahead of her. They are going to wean her off the fluids they are giving her and we are going to have to learn tomorrow how to give her injections under the skin until she is able to drink more on her own. She still is sick but much better. And improving every day. They said there is a chance we might be able to take her home TOMORROW. We are so excited. We can't believe the recovery she has made in a couple of days. Please keep praying for her as she is not totally out of the woods yet. Thank you so much for all your prayers and support. They have helped and Miss Kitty has improved thanks to all your prayers. Thank you all!!!

Well, we got a phone call about a half hour ago... Miss Kitty is being discharged at 11:00!!! I'll update later and let you all know how our baby is doing. Thank you all so much for your prayers. They worked!!! Miss Kitty is coming home!!! I have to go clean the house now for her homecoming!!!

Here are some pics of our baby home at last. She is laying on the bed with me as I finally try and get my 20 page paper done, that is due Tuesday!! We are so happy to have her home. We have a long road ahead of us. We were in the vet for an hour, while they explained everything we have to do. We have to give her a pill once a day for about a week. We have to give her some liquid until te bottle is finished and we have to give her injections of water with a syringe under the sking for the rest of her life. They gave us an IV bag with the water and a supply of needles that will last ten days. So every month we have to buy enough solution to last her the month, with the syringes. She is also on a special diet from now on. She is on a prescription diet for kidneys. So, it is going to be tough keeping her healthy and she is going to require a lot of care for the rest of her life, but we really don't care. We are just so happy she is home. Unfortunately we were also told that she has a lower life expectancy now. They said she will only live for about 2-4 more years. I guess we will have to to deal with that when it gets here. Thank you again for your support and thank you from Mike, Miss Kitty and Mr. Peabody too.
