Our search begins tonight in Great Neck!!

DH and I decided we are going to look for a condo in Great Neck. My commute to NYC will still be easy and his to Melville a little shorter. We will be able to start our family there and in a few years buy our dream house and rent out the place we buy.

We finally figured it out...YAY....but tonight our search begins. We are looking at the first place at 6pm...wish us luck!!!

We're still flip-flopping as to whether we should go coop-Condo or (little) house.. Condo def. cheaper and more affordable, way to build equity, etc.. And I work/school in NYC & he works in Manhassett at North Shore.. Sorry, just flip flopping out loud :)

Beth, Yes, we are looking in the town....close to the railroad. We looked at a place at 30 Stoner last night. It was a beautiful building and apartment but it just wasnt for us. There are a few others we have appts to see but not sure which buildings....DH has that info...but i will find out.

What building are you in? Do you have any recomendations on brokers in the area. So far we are working with Prudential and one other.

hey we're right next to the RR. In fact I look out on it LOL.

We're in the Wychwood, Barstow Lane.

We used Joan Shapiro, but I couldnt stand most of the brokers and we found something for sale by owner in the paper.

Are u looking for parking, pets, anything in particular? I might be able to give u some direction.

WOW finding through the paper is amazing!!! We are looking but just have to get lucky.

We are looking for 2 bedrooms, we prefer a parking spot, but if the waiting list isnt years long we would consider. We have a cat, but the broker said to look at everything...most buildings she said are not pet friendly but its the dont ask dont tell policy. I would also love a place with a terrace and a washer dryer at least on the floor. I know we will be paying more for these things but its worth it to us since we will be there for 5 or 6 years.
