our tuxedo hunt from hell! (need help!)

our tuxedo hunt from hell! (need help!)

so yesterday we decided to (finally) go look for tuxedos after work...so first we went to elite tuxedo right on old country rd by fortunoff - we waited twenty five minutes and no one even spoke to us -- now it was busy but soemone surely could have come over or even yelled over - we're a little busy, can you give us a minute, or said 'hi' or anything! - so after waiting and glancing around, we left. we then continued down the road to men's warehouse (thinking we are so smart that we'll save time by hitting all the places in the area at once!)......well, it turns out that they don't actually have the tuxedos to try on - you just order them there....now since fh didn't really know which type of jacket (how many buttons!) he wanted, we aksed if they had ones so we could see....the woman then called a man who looked at us and said he needed twenty minutes first..even though he had been just standing around doing nothing the whole time we were there up to that point....

now i also should add, fh had the day off and was wearing cargos, sneakers and a t shirt - and both place made him feel uncomfortable b/c of it - they somewhat glanced him over and gave disapproving looks...which totally annoyed me since fh is a wonderful man who does work very hard but would not dress up just to go look at tux's..ooooh it burned me up that they tried to make him feel like he didn't deserve it!

does anyone have any places they miught recommend for tuxes?? i will also do a search!

Tuxedo Park in Carle Place next to Bridal Reflections on westbury ave, I think theres one in huntington too. We walked right in with no appt on sat and they were able to help us right away and they have good quality tuxes. Hope that helps!

We used LuMarrs on Rockaway Ave in Vally Stream and LOVED them. The guy Jersen was sooooooo helpful (we were there a long time) and they have everything there for you to try on AND they have everything there (no warehouse) in case anything goes wrong when they pick them up.

So far I highly recommend them

We used Bonaventure and liked them. They were very helpful with finding the right look and helping us get a husky kids tux for the RB.

I highly recommend Gino's Tuxedo's on 109 in Farmingdale. I know so many people who used them and were very happy. If something does not fit right on the day of, they have everything in their store so you don't have to wait for nothing to come in. We went there and they were busy (which is a good thing to me) but the girl kept saying she was so sorry for making us wait and thanking us for how patient we were. Chris got to try on stuff. She even put him in the dressing room and so he can get the look he wanted. It was a great experience.

Ours was $250 or so, at syms... Some were less but some were more... I think most were around 200-250

Feldman Tuxedos in Merrick on Merrick Road by Salon G... Steve is the owner & is great. My FH & I went shopping right when he got off of work (he is a mechanic) & he was allgreasy & they didn't make him feel any different than anyone else in there. And they had our tuxes & they were willing to order another style that we liked but they didn't carry.

Esquire Tuxedos on Merrick Road, in Merrick. My prom date used them 14 yrs. ago for my prom, and Fh and I just came back from there, they also have a place in Lynbrook, we have been told. We are going to use them. We were also confused until we went there, the guy we dealt with today was named Gerry and he was very nice.
