Our wedding July 8
Our wedding went great! Very few problems, and I had a great time. Some people deserve praise, so here it goes with complete reviews: Elizabeth from Clinique at Macys Roosevelt Field did my makeup. She was fabulous! She is creative, but she does it your way. I know that someone hired her on my recommendation and I must say that you will not be disappointed. What a nice girl too! A friend of mine did my hair and did a wonderful job. She was a Godsend on the wedding day since she has been through it all and even helped me get on my dress! I don't know if she is taking new clients, but her name is Pam and she works at A Cut Above in Massapequa Park. I got my dress at David's. I hated the place, but fell in love with my dress. Alterations there are stressful mainly because they have too much work and do everything last minute (lie about your wedding date). After all, however, they did a fabulous job, though I only needed a hem from the waste and a bustle. My veil was from Bridal Boutique by the curtain store in Massapequa. They did a fine job. Jodi from Cassarino was our photographer. She was wonderful! She is smart and efficient and she got everything done (even our special requests) with plenty of time to spare even though we had an hour long receiving line after mass! She also has a beautiful, fun personality. I hope to get the proofs soon. If they are nearly as good as my experience with Jodi, I will be extremely happy! Ken from Cassarino was our videographer and he was also a pleasure to deal with. Hopefully the video will be good. I will let you know! YOU SHOULD HIRE THE FOLLOWING LIMO COMPANY: Ultimate Class! They were phenomenal!!! I can't even go into everything they did, but they took over and made everything run smoothly! A limo driver pinned all the boutineirs on the guys. They are very professional and they know what they are doing! I think they might be slightly pricier than other companies, but it is worth it. We had two 10 person white limos and a Princess (fits four) Rolls for about $1400. Florissima was our Florist. I thought the flowers were beautiful and the alter pieces looked like wedding, not funeral, flowers. Arcadia from LI Paramount was our band and they were every bit as wonderful as they are at the showcases. The reception was at the Crest Hollow and most of our vendors were recommended by the Crest Hollow. Though it was not completely done on purpose, this turned out to be a good thing, because everyone knew how things work there and got everything running smoothly without any conflict. It is tough to explain, but it was a good thing and I am glad we booked their vendors even though we weren't necessarily looking to do so. The Crest Hollow also did a great job. We had the Emerald Room which was beautiful! We had 275 people and I would not go much higher than that since we did have one table that could not see us from their seats. The outdoor cocktail hour was called off by Ken (my husband) because the weather was questionable. Thankfully, we got to take pictures outside. However, if we started the cocktails outside and it started to rain, it would be ruined, so I am happy with the option (plus we get some money back as a result). I was not happy, however, that the cocktail hour room was not one of the bigger rooms. We were told it would be and I could not tell if everyone could sit or not. I missed seeing the ice sculpture, but Ken said it was there and very nice. I also missed the cordial bar as did my parents. It should have been announced. I also could not speak to all 275 guests because I ate and had a good time! Another hour would have been perfect, but I did not realize I would want that until the wedding day. The food at the Crest Hollow was great! I highly recommend the raspberry vinigrette on the salad. The cocktail hour was plentiful! The bartenders even stopped by the tables to take orders. The service was excellent. I could not be happier with my bridal attendant (Corin - I can't spell it). Did I miss anyone? Let me know. I hope you all have a wonderful wedding day as we did and I would be happy to answer any questions! I will post about Hawaii separately.

Congratulations on what sounds like a wonderful wedding. Thank you for sharing your experiences at Crest Hollow. I am so excited and it sounds great. Can you tell me more about the cocktail room. Where was the one you had? I didn't see it when I was there. Also I appreciate all of your suggestions. Congrats and best wishes! - Lora

The cocktail hour room was right next to the Emerald Room, which was a plus. It is a very nice room, but, unfortunately, a little small. Overall, I thought the Crest Hollow did a great job.

Congrats. I am glad to hear you had such a wonderful day. After all the planning, it's nice to know you can sit back and enjoy the day. I have booked Arcadia for next June and I was wondering how everything went? Did they take a lot of breaks, did you request that they learn a song? Did you have a list of songs to play or did they set the stage for the music the entire night? Any info would be great! Thanks again and best of luck with your new hubby!

Arcadia
Arcadia was fabulous. We gave them a don't play list and a list of songs we would like to hear (though I asked them to go with the flow, but use it as a guide). They played most of the songs we requested. Some they did not get to. We decided to feed the band, but they continued to play live music all night. During courses, some members would eat and some would play. The songs they played during breaks were fabulous too. They have so many talented musicians. I think you will be very happy with them. I am glad I gave them a list, because they did use it as a guide and people were up dancing all night.

Arcadia - continued
We did not ask them to learn a song. All of our songs were on their list. Make sure to get an updated list closer to your wedding! I am sure they will learn a song if it one of your important ones. I was also told that there are some songs they can play that are not on the list.

Arcadia - Thanks Carrie
Thank you for responding so quickly. I can't wait for them to perform at my wedding. My Fi told me about them and when we went to their showcase- we booked immediately. Glad to hear everything worked out well.Welcome New Vendors
