our wedding song was now cheapened- do i need to find another one

FH and i picked sades BY YOUR SIDE because it was different and unique. we were watching carmen and dave newly weds and that was there song. i feel like it cheapened our song and now it wont be as meaningful or unique. im a being silly or do you think that many people have watched it and now it will seem corny.

i think if that song suits you and your FH then you should use it....can i ask a question...how many people that will attend your wedding (beside BP-i assume-being young) watch MTV and have a clue who Carmen and Dave are....

I say stick with it if it has special meaning to the 2 of you then thats all that matters

I wouldnt have even known had you not mentioned it. I wouldnt worry about it too much. Plus how many of your guests were strapped to their seats watching dave and carmen's wedding? That's gotta be a scary thought, Aunt Martha and Uncle Joe from florida watching MTV!! Anyway, if the songs means a lot to you, that's all that matters!!!

By no ways does that cheapen your your choice.
We were initially using it as well but chose another becasue it felt more appropriate for us. So choose what you feel is best suited for you and FH

its your song because you love it and its special to you, if everyone in the world used it it still would have a special/unique meaning for you two so I say use it

That is one of our choices and I thought it would be 'original', It will with out a doubt be my song to FH if we dont use it and I was excited when I saw it on Carmen and Dave actually, I turned to FH and said, Theres our song. I dont think it cheapens it at all.

I love that song and also thought about using it. I originally found it because Jenny Garth (from 90210) used it at ther wedding that was on one of the wedding shows.

I think you should use it.

Cheapened by that show?
I liked the show alot actually so I don't think that at all...I loved her dress and hair - I thought Dave was nice and thoughtful towards her and seemed genuinely excited to get married, so I guess it's in the eye of the beholder...
If I had her $$ I would have had my whole wedding planned out already without one bit of stress!

LOL. I felt this way about the color pink after I saw Ryan and Trista's wedding. While it is fresh in your mind now, you'll be totally over it by your wedding. And I don't think any of your guests will connect the song to Carmen and Dave.

If you like the song, keep it, it doesn;t sound like many people are watching the show anyway. Most people when they hear it will just see how happy you are.

I would stick with the song that the 2 of you like. I actually watched Carmen and Dave and didn't even pay attention to the song. I don't think it would be corny if you used that for your wedding song.

It was Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's song too - SO Carmen and Dave aren't very unique either !! =)

OH CRAP. that's what we JUST picked 2 days ago. i didn't know it was their song!!!! so annoying. but i guess since neither carmen elektra nor dave navarro will be at my wedding, it doesn't matter too much.

That is our wedding song too. How does someone else using your wedding song cheapen it? Thousands of people use the same songs every year. Don't worry about it !!! It's a beautiful song.
