Our weding song



My fiance loves teh song by firehouse 'when i look into your eyes.
because 1-it's unique. 2- he surprised me by playing it and asking me to dance in a parking lot once on a date.

my question: as much as i LIKE the song and the memory of it.... i feel it's too UNCONVENTIONAL. It's a Metal band!!!!
i'm more traditional like Louis armstrong/frank Sinatra...
What do yougirls think?
keep the song or find another??

Do you have any other songs to suggest?

Why dont you use 2??? Use a more traditional one for your first dance and then use that song for your spotlight dance?

I think it's great if your wedding song has some meaning to it!

We're actually going with the 'spotlight dance' as well to have 2 songs.

If it means something to you, you shold definitley use it. Screw conventional. We used Your Song by Elton John as our first dance because we both love Elton and dance to it in our house all the time (yes I know we're dorks) Anyway, I also love the song Come What May from Moulin Rouge, so we danced to that after we cut our cake.

Don't worry about using conventional songs. The song he wants is a beautiful one!!

Let me tell you, my brother used 'Thank you' by Led Zeppelin at his wedding and I wish he didn't so I could use it!!

use the song that means something to you.

i doubt anyone has ever heard of FH and i's song. it's a pop-punk song! but its all in how you introduce it to people. the song means a lot to us and the band is going to play it at our wedding as well as a few other songs (they also do oldies.. but are definitely not your average wedding band) so even when my mother turned up her nose at the song (even tho shes never heard it) it means a lot to us, so we picked it.

our song is Love of a lifetime by firehouse......but i dont think i want it for our first dance because i dont really think it sounds lieka first dance song
