OK so they 'say' that your wedding dress on average should account for about 10% of your budget (not including HM).
What percentage was everyone's dress?
I'm realizing now, 3 months away, that my dress ends up only totaling 5% of our budget. Yay! See I saved money

I'm about 8%... but it sickens me to look at a percentage like that! Ugh why did I have to start looking at pricer dresses!!!

HA HA my dress is definitely on the pricy side, but now looking at the percentages I'm like 'Oooh I could have spent more'! I'm so bad-I think they wrote Confessions of a Shopaholic after me. When I figured out my dress came to 5% I was actually shocked!

You're totally right... I should start looking at it that way!
What's ironic about me feeling bad is that after I fell in love with my dress I was determined to not spend that much. I went to RK bridal and found a Mori Lee dress for like $500 that could totally work. When I brought my parents there to see me in the dress my Mom said 'Oh, yeah I guess this is nice' UMMMM yeah, I'm sorry but there was no way I was getting married in a dress my Mom gave that reaction to. Both her and my Dad fell in love with the Lazaro on me and drove me from RK to the salon where I tried on the Lazaro and bought it on the spot.
See I TRIED to save them money on that one and they wouldn't let me!! lol

Mine worked out to be abut 1%. My Mom told me I could spend more (much more) but it turned out the dress I like wasn't that expensive.

HA! My dress was CHEAP yo!!!!! 5% for this biatch!! It's funny too, because my literally my whole life I thought I would get some crazy azz couture dress for like 20K and then donate it to charity. Yeah I'm crazy. I wanted Betsey Johnson to make my dress for me. One day I finally had to tell myself I wasn't Paris Hilton, nor was I ever going to be. That was when I found a 3K dress at Priscilla of Boston, customized it to fit my style, and never looked back!!!

Mine was 5%, but I had a lot of people at my wedding so my budget percentage was different, I would have gotten the same dress if I had 50 people at my wedding or 500.

My grandmother left me money when she passed for my wedding dress ... but I spent well under 1k so far (was REALLY able to talk my bridal salon down! Even got my slip for free) So I am going to use the rest of the $ for accessories so I have something to pass down to my kids from her , and just papering myself day of... So I guess it technically wasnt IN the budget to begin with so I will go 0% lol

Re: Out of curiosity, what percentage of your wedding budget was spent on your dress?
we didn't have a concrete wedding budget -- just sort of decided early on where we wanted to splurge (live 8-piece band, invitations) and what areas we wanted to save... but my gown wasn't a real factor in the overall bottom line. It was a gift from my mom, and I was pretty certain on what gown I wanted even before I tried it on. I wish I'd taken more time in deciding on my dress though, because recently I've seen other gowns that I like a little more, but oh well.

Technically none, my mom bought it for me
Also I really let the whole budget thing go out the window... so if I calculate with my original budget around 5%.. if i calculate with what was actually spent... 2.5%
