Out of curiosity, what percentage of your wedding budget was spent on your dress?

Original post by MirabellaNYC

OK so they 'say' that your wedding dress on average should account for about 10% of your budget (not including HM).

What percentage was everyone's dress?

I'm realizing now, 3 months away, that my dress ends up only totaling 5% of our budget. Yay! See I saved money

Mine was 2.8%, so I voted for 5%

THe greatest decision I ever made was to seek out a less expensive dress from the get go. My goal was to try and find one under $1000 - and I found SEVERAL gorgeous dresses under that at RK Bridal. We spent $40k on our wedding and it was incredible - so it wasn't like I was trying to be stingy. I just felt I could find something without spending thousands. I think dresses are very personal and for those brides who spent more, hey - go for it. It's your day But anyone who hasn't looked yet, check out RK Bridal. My gown was beautiful and everyone loved it. No one could believe I paid what I paid for it.

Ummmm my dress was like $1300 and we'll be spending between $25000 and $30000 altogether on the wedding.

Then again my parents are paying and my Mom said the dress wasn't a part of that.
