I have been to a few Jewish Weddings were a favor was not given out. I don't know if that is tradition or not.

I am doing a Donation Favor

I went to one wedding where I did not get a favor. Nothing. Not even a note saying they made a donation.

Honestly, I did not mind because favors usually suck anyway but YOU SHOULD HAVE HEARD THE COMMENTS THAT PEOPLE MADE!! I even heard stuff weeks after the wedding.

I made a mental note that night - do not skip the favor at your own wedding unless you do not care what people say about you.

Some people who dont want to do favors give a donation instaed and then give out little scrolls attached to a piece of candy or candle or something inexpensive that say waht the donation was for..

It is not customary at a Jewish wedding to give a favor... I think more and more people are doing it now because the people they invite are a mix of cultures and are expecting something. I am doing a donation

i am giving favors but just because i want to ~ I love gift giving... it is so much fun ~ not sure if I am going to like to do it for so many people at one time. (I have been to a wedding in the last couple of years and they did not do a donation and did not give a favor and i heard ladies chatting about it in the bathroom)

I have always gotten favors at a wedding. That doesn't mean you have to do it. Maybe you want to do the donation.

I'm not giving favors. FH and I decided to make a donation in our guests names. I have seen this done before and I really like the idea of my money being used for a good purpose.

We have received some weird looks from the older generations when we tell them 'no favors', but to be honest, I couldn't give a hoot. Most of my friends think its a great idea.

We're not doing favors, we're donating to an animal shelter in our guests' names. They'll get a little scroll at each place explaining the donation and with a profile of one of the dogs at the shelter who will benefit.

Im not!!!

We are having votives up and down the table with our monogram on labels on them that people are more than welcome to take, but they arent really favors.

No one will miss them, I dont remember any favor Ive ever gotten at a wedding.. I usually toss them.

We are making a donation to Guiding Eyes for the Blind. FH and I have raised a few guide dogs through them and we love this organization!

I'm doing a donation favor, even though my Dad thinks I'm nuts because he's never heard of it before. I went to a wedding last October where favors weren't given out. There were personalized matches on the tables, but it wasn't clear if those were the favors. If I weren't planning a wedding, I wouldn't have noticed. I think it's weird that they didn't have a favor.

I went to a black-tie wedding (catholic) and did not receive a favor. Honestly, I didn't even notice until later and I totally didn't care.

No favor. I'm giving a small box of Godiva with a donation scroll for Ronald McDonald house.
