out of state BM... How do I do this lol

my sister lives in VA.
should i make her come down when the time is ready . or should i just let her know the designer name and color i want ..

Although my SIL (bro's wife) is in NY, all of her bm's/sister were in Texas, so she ordered the dresses from a store in Texas. They made me measure myself & based on my measurements ordered the dress.

Sometimes they like the bm's dresses to be ordered in the same 'lot' b/c the color may vary slightly or such.

well i know a few places by me only take meas if everyone goes to get meas. Im not going to make her come allllll the way here just to get meas and go back home..

UNLESS she come for a visit inthe summer or something and when it comes in i send it to her .. who knows

I have been an Out of state BM numerous times and one of my BM is in Germany for a year sooo how it has worked for me is that I have been around to get measured and tried on the dress, sometimes they sent me the dress for alterations, other times I was able to work in another trip from VA for it....also if trips aren't possible, you can get measured somewhere and send the measurements to the shop. They'll figure out the size from the chart and deal with it from there. I have never gotten it locally since the dress colors could be slightly off if they are not ordered together/made from same lot. Good Luck!

She can get measured by her local seamstress ad just tell you her measurements. Then you can order everyone's dresses together.

She can get measured by a local seamstress ad just call you with the measurements. They 'say' you should order all of dresses together to make sure they're from the same dye lot.

After you decide which dress-- you should have her go look at some of the finalist at a place near her.. THis is what I did when I was in my bro's wedding.. All of the BMs- who were all over the place- reported back with the order of preference- based on the feedback- my SIL chose a dress..

Then we all ordered it from the same place and my dress got shipped to me.

I am an OOT bridesmaid in several wedidngs and I just called the stores with my measurements and ordered the dress from teh same store, that way when they dye the dresses they all come out exactly alike or something like that. when it came to fittings, I just had the dresses shipped to me and i'm having my own seamstress in my state fit me.

I had on in Mississippi! I just told her to pick a dress and they all ordered from RK Bridal. Depending on the color of your dresses that whole dye lot thing doesn't need to be an issue. It wasn't with mine.

I had the same problem, I live in VA and two of my BM live in NY, so we all picked one weekend that was good and they came to VA and we looked for dresses. And then when I ordered them all they had to do was call in, because they had already tried on the dress and knew their sizes. Now the dresses will get shipped directly to them.

I have a BM in Africa until December, and my other two are in NY, so I'll go up to NY and we'll order them up there. My BM in Africa will just send me her measurements and I'll order the dress.

My friend who lives in Vegas is a BM and I just had her go to a local cleaners and get measured, she gave me her measurements, and when the girls were ready to order their dresses, I gave the bridal shop the measurements so they knew what size dress to order for her.

And when the dress comes in, I will probably mail it to her and have her get fitted in Vegas--unless she comes beforehand but I doubt it.

you can either order it and have it shipped to her, you could have it shipped to you and then you ship it to her or you can tell her exactly what you want and see if she can order it down there :) Good Luck!
