Out of town bridal party!

Out of town bridal party!

It is impossible planning things and having everyone included when 4 of your bridal party members are from out of state. I am mad b/c FH insisted that these people be in the parrty. One person is his brother which obviously is important, but they others are making it difficult. If it was only his brother it would have been easier. Now we have to try to accomodate 4 out of state people for different events.

Anyone else going through this and how are you handling things like dress fittings, rehearsal dinner, etc?

Re: Out of town bridal party!

I am going through this, a few people in our wedding party are out of state.

Thankfully everyone will be in long island during christmas week, so i plan on ordering the bridesmaid dresses then, as well as the tuxedos for the guys

As far as the shower, bachelorette party, Rehersal dinner If the OOT BP members cant make it, they cant make it, i cant stress out about it.

As far as fittings, The Out of state girls will have to alterations where they live, when the dress comes in.

yea......you are right. Getting the dresses and everything was easy, but now the fittings are going to be a pain in the butt and the rehearsal had to be on a Wed. and I feel like everyone is annoyed about it. I guess I try to hard to make everyone included and make it perfect.

I gotta the learn the 'whatever' mentality

Thanks!

I have 2 and it hasn't been a problem. I trust them to get their dresses altered (they have their dresses), and it isn't going to make-or-break the wedding if they don't make it to the rehearsal.

They're all very busy with their own lives...I can't come down on them because my wedding is important to ME. Ya know?

Re: Out of town bridal party!

Half of our bridal party is from out of town. So far it hasn't been an issue. but I am sure it will be somewhere along the way.

As for dresses -- we are going during christmas week when my sister is in town. Once we decide on something the other girls will send me their measurements and then will have it altered where they live.

The guys will try on their tuxes the Thursday before the wedding so they have Friday incase something doesn't fit.

I know it is just an added stress!

I have 4 people out of state as well. We are ordering the BM dresses through RK Bridals No frills program so the girls can get them altered on their own.

As for my shower, who ever can come will be there- I understand if they cant make the trip.

The Rehersal dinner will be the night before so everyone will already be here.

I have 4 bridesmaids that are out of state (RI, NH, GA, and SC). Those that weren't able to come to NY called in their measurements and are having their dresses shipped to them and altered by someone near them. As for rehearsal dinner, it will be the night before, so they will all be in already. Try not to stress too much about it. It'll all work out.

Basically the same for me....I went to visit 2 and went dress shopping with them, and went with FH's sister over Thanksgiving when we were both home. The 4th will have to try on and handle it on her own....I'm ordering the dresses to be shipped to the girls, they will handle alterations on their own. They're big girls, they can do it!

Our rehearsal will be the night before so they will all be there already. As for the shower, my one BM from CA may not make it, but I made it clear to her that whatever she can afford to do is fine and I just wanted her to be a part of it.

I don't actually mind at all that they're OOT, possible b/c I'm OOT as well! it's all satellite planning so it's really fine!

most of my BMs and ALL of FHs groomsmen are out of state - i just chose the girls' dresses and then had them all get measured wherever and call in their measurements/mail a deposit. it is definititely VERY stressful...but im sure it will all come together :)

Re: Out of town bridal party!

Our best men live in Los Angeles and Syracuse, and FH's sister, a BM, lives in Mexico. I feel your pain.

I think the guys are planning his bachelor party in NYC, and whoever can get here will come. Same with my bachelorette party. My shower is being planned via email since FSIL can't use her cell phone in a different country. We're not doing an RD.

FSIL had her measurements taken before she moved, and we're going to have to ship her dress to Mexico. She's going to have to figure out how to get her dress altered there. The groomsmen are faxing FH their measurements and he'll order their tuxes.

Good luck! Try not to stress... these people are in your BP b/c they care about you. If distance is the only obstacle, you'll be ok.
