Hi all, I am living in Seattle and planning a NY wedding. I have booked Insignia for Aug 15, 2015 and will be on long island this summer for 2 weeks to do all my wedding planning.
So my question to you all is, if you had 2 weeks to do all of the in person planning would you do with your time?
I just want to maximize my time and plan as much as possible. Any ideas would be truly helpful
thanks for all of your help!!!

Meet photographers! You want to mesh well with the people that will be taking pictures of you all day.

I love Insignia we considered it as our venue but FH wanted to go the traditional route. But yeah meet with Photographers, DJ, Officiant...get all the big stuff out of the way.

I would look into the complete wedding package in east meadow (photo, limo and dj all in one package) will save u alotfof time so u can do hair, make up and officiant research! Allot of places will communicate prices abs stuff via email. If u need an officiant I would recommend pastor April!!

Thanks for the replies ladies!! Insignia doesn't do tasting since they are a restaurant not a catering hall but I would love to get dinner while I am in town so that will help me narrow down some of the choices for the wedding.
I also have a meeting set up with complete wedding packages. They seem really nice from speaking to them on the phone and I figured if I could get multiple vendors from one place that would make my life a little bit easier being so far away.
So now I need to meet with officiants and schedule cake tastings. Anything else that really needs to be done in person?
Thanks again!!

This is how I was planning my wedding. I lived upstate, so I was dealing with quick weekends. In two weeks you should get a lot done! Do A LOT of preliminary research. Rule out anyone who's prices are out of your budget-- this keeps you sane! Decide who's product you like most (1-3 depending on your personal preference) and make appointments with them. This way, you are ruling them out based solely on personality, package deals, personal relations, etc. You should be able to decide early if you do this! 1-see if any DJs you are interested in are doing showcases during your stay. If not, ask if they are willing to send you some footage, given your situation. If not, they will probably show you some when you meet with them. 2-Photographers/videographers 3-Florist 4-Hair and/or make up trials. They don't look at you that weird for looking a year early I promise! 5-limos
The rest of the stuff I did mostly online. If you have any questions feel free to FM me!

Photographers, DJ and florists in that order of priority I think. These are the people you need to get to know the most. A limo can quote you over the phone and most of LIW BRIDES will review limo companies for you to narrow it down.
