Outdoor Ceremony - Mic/Speakers?

question for the girls having an outdoor ceremony -

do you girls have a 'sound system' or a microphone and speakers setup for the outdoor?? or is the officiant using his bare voice???

if so, WHO provides the mic/speakers? the hall?? ceremony musician?? or dj/band???

i'm afraid without a mic, the guests won't hear what we say...!

I am having an outdoor ceremony. It depends on how many people you're having, but I would play it safe and have a microphone (I hate being at a wedding where you have no clue what's going on). Most halls provide you with the mic and set it up. I would check with them first. They won't give it to you unless you say something ahead of time.

Good question. I'm having an outdoor ceremony too. I am paying to have my DJ play music for the 1/2 hour ceremony. I wonder if he'll provide the mics for the ceremony. Good question to ask. I'm not sure.

If you have having a DJ...ask yours.

we asked out band (doing ceremony music too) to supply a mic and speaker for the officiant.

This is something all outdoor ceremony girls need to think about. My stepbrother's wedding was outside and we couldn't hear anything. My dad was asking us later what we thought of the ceremony and 'wasn't it so beautiful' and we had to tell him we had no idea b/c we couldn't hear anything. I made a point to ask my dj (who will be providing the music) and he said he would have a microphone just in case the place did not.
