My fiance and I are completely rethinking our wedding plans and I could really use some help! We were originally booked to get married next Sept 4 (2011) but are now thinking we don't want to wait that long! I am thinking of moving the date up ALOT and going a cheaper route...I am thinking about doing it in a park...but am not sure exactly where and how it works! I am wondering if anyone has any clue of which parks allow weddings!? HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED..THANKS!!

Re: Outdoor Park weddings
I was completely set on having an outdoor garden wedding myself. There are a few local places, but they are not cheap and they book up quickly! So that may not work out for you unless you were to do it on a weekday. I planned a year ahead and a lot of things were already booked for the season. It's very popular and not neccessarily the cheapest way to go. You can look into local, town owned parks in your area. I am not sure if they might be able to offer you something.
Central Park has small wedding packages that may still be available for a reasonable rate.
Otherwise, I suggest doing what we did... Go upstate!!! If you and your guests are willing to make the 1-2 drive, there are many of beautiful, scenic outdoor wedding locations there. And it will be much easier to get a date and much cheaper! If it's a small wedding, you can rent a house for the weekend with lots of land, or you can have it at a B&B (like us!).. there are wineries, farmhouses, restaurants, resorts. So many more possibilities than the island in my opinion...and much more flexible (esp for smaller weddings).
