Outdoor Wedding Reception

Outdoor Wedding Reception

Hi... I'm new here, this is my first post. I need help, I am looking for an inexpensive wedding venue, we want an outdoor tent reception. I looked into county parks, but they all close at sunset and that's too early for me! Does anyone have any suggestions, site rentals, beach, etc. Thanks!

Welcome!

Frank Melville Park in Setauket will allow a tent rental and the site fee is $600, but that is for use of the house, and I am not sure where on that property you could do a tent. However, I will caution you that with the catering fees, rentals, decor and everything it can get to be more expensive than a hall. FH and I would have loved to do a tented wedding somewhere but everything was adding up more than a hall with all the bells and whistles would be. In the end we scratched it.

I know that Lessings has the Sunken Meadow Pavilion which is on the beach, but it is an enclosed space. I think with decorating it could be awesome.

Good luck!

Re: Outdoor Wedding Reception

i'm getting married at harbor links (a golf course) and our ceremony will be outside by the gazebo and our cocktail hour will be in their tent (which is set up year round). they do one wedding at a time and found them to be very affordable. plus they had a special promotion at the time of our booking and we get American Airline vouchers for the both of us which we can use within a year anywhere in the continental US. also, they do free tastings if you are interested.

You could check out some of the Vineyards-- like Vineyard Caterers.

I think the Snapper Inn is able to do parties like this also.

The Pavilion at Sunken Meadow allows you to have the ceremony on the beach in the sand and the CH outside under a tent. The room is this large glass enclosed room with vaulted ceilings. They keep the doors open through the entire wedding and since the DJ is set up under the tent that is where the dance floor is. You should check it out. It's nice and simple and casual.

How much are you looking to spend?
I've gotten a lot of quotes from the vineyards out east, most of them were out of my price range and we didn't want a tent.
My favorite is
Raphael
but they are indoor... but beautiful!

check out Harborlinks in Port Washington. It's on a golf course and cocktail hour is in a tent outside.

Re: Outdoor Wedding Reception

Def try Botanical gardens in the city. I got married at Queens Botanical Garden, check out pics on my wedding review. The place was absolutely stunning, we did an outdoor ceremony and cocktail followed by the reception held in a tent. We had an unbelievable time working with them. We love working with Clare Del Monaco, she was simply the best! If interested, FM me for more details. The rental for the ceremony garden as well as the Cherry Circle Lawn was inexpensive (although it does require permit/insurance). The only thing that could get pricey are the rentals and catering. They also have a botanical garden in the the Bronx as well as Brooklyn but since both venues have private catering as well as indoor reception hall/room, it's falls on the expensive scale.
