From what i've seen from pics, Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst has really pretty outdoor ceremonies and don't sound too expensive. Heard great reviews... Also I heard the Crecent is nice. Both have CH outside and are on the beach

Unfortunately, the words 'tent' and outdoor wedding' usually eqal EXPENSIVE! I originally wanted an outdoor wedding and was willing to do it pretty far out in NJ where its cheaper and would have been a partial inconvenience for folks and it was still VERY pricey.

The thing about outdoor weddings is that you generally have to get ALOT of rentals. Uless you find a place that has outdoor capabilites (like a place we wanted that had a permanent tent set up and veything was included) you will ahve to rent the tent, tables, chairs, special insurance, have a plan B....some places even get you with having to rent silverware and all of that so make sure you ask what is specifically included.

A friend of mine is getting married on teh campsite her Fh's parents met and worked at throughout his childhood. They dont have to pay for the reception hall because his parents took acre of it. HOWEVER since it is just benches and long tables, she had to rent chairs, silverware (individual forks, knives, spoons, glasses, plates etc and it was NOT CHEAP!) and the chairs alone cost her $900.00! And this was by going through a wedding planner that got things much cheaper than usual.

If you want a backyard wedding, you ahve to consider the size and how many people. if its an informal affaor you could probably do it inespensively but if you want soemthing more dressed up, be prepared to shell out some moola.
