We are not writing anything on the inner envelopes. WE are not having children at the wedding so whoever is on the outer envelope are the only ones invited. But...the only kids that will be there are the ones in the bridal party. So my question is how should i address the envelope?...... 1) Mr. and Mrs JOhn Doe and Family or 2) Mr. and Mrs. John Doe Peter, Paul and Mary or Is there a different, proper way to do it?

I'm assuming you are asking about the families of the children in your bridal party that ARE invited to the wedding... If so, I would address the outer envelope to Mr. and Mrs. Jones Peter, Paul and Mary

So, if you aren't inviting kids, why would you put 'and family' ?
If you only want Mr. & Mrs. John Doe to come, then put Mr. & Mrs. John Doe.

If it is just 1 child then I would put the child's name. If it is more than 1 child then I would put & family.

I think I would put 'Family' on the outside bc I think it might look weird to have names listed on the outside, esp if it's multiple kids.

For the outter envelop I would put family. If u were putting names on the inner then you write out each name.
