I am doing my seating charts now but I am in between with the two tables! I never saw oval tables at a wedding??

Re: oval vs round tables
I like round but i think oval are great if you want those long low centerpeices that stretch the length of the table. I think they are so elegant.

I prefer Round all the way.
When we were looking at places it was on my list... I really wanted round tables. They seem roomier to me.

i'm so glad to see other people feel strongly about this. i didn't even consider halls that have oval tables. there's something so elegant about round tables.

Re: oval vs round tables
I had 3 ovals at mine and it was fine. I would rather let people who know each other sit together then have all rounds. They didn't look much different, just a little bigger and everyone could still talk to each other.

My sister had oval and round- different sizes- it was fine- did not look strange at all.

Like another poster said, when using Oval tables you will need a different type of CP. Something low & long, which could cost a lot more money.
I have sat at oval & round tables at weddings & I prefer round.

NRC gave you the option? FH wanted oval, and when he asked about them, we were told its extra money.. so that got him mad.
but we have oval tables at our hall.. its the only thing offered. he's happy about it.. i actually prefer round, but round doesn't fit in our room.

Re: oval vs round tables
grrr.... this is so frustating bc I love my centerpiece!!! its a 24 in vase with white phaeleonopsis orchids! but the other idea the florist has is to do 4 mini vase going down the middle with roses and the orchids! i am one table to many for round!. but if i do the oval I have way more space since the venue holds 27 ovals vs 22 round.

I am all for round because I feel with the longer tables, you can't talk to everyone...

Yes my friend got married at CB and used oval. I see no difference really. Maybe it's harder to talk to all the guest at your table?
She didn't have floral CPs though. Just candles and rose petals.
