I used round instead of oval, I liked how it looked in our room better. Honestly, I think it depends on the room.

I went to a wedding recently where they mixed up oval and round. I'm not sure if it was a logistics thing to make sure everyone fit, but I loved it! I thought it looked cool!

I know lombardi's on the sound does that..FSIL got married there and didn't have a problem with them.

As a meeting planner one of my most BEAUTIFUL dinners for about 170 people had oval tables....I have to say it was breathtaking and if done correctly more elegant looking then round. Everyone does round....
