Friends of ours are eloping in a few days. Just them on an island. She didnt even want an e-ring, instead they opted for simple matching gold bands....
Every couple is different and I am thrilled about my wedding but it is weird that I am feeling like we are over doing it in comaprison to them?
anyone experience anything like this?

Sometimes I feel like we're overdoing it, but then I come onto this board and see that we're not having as many frills as some of the other girls are (not that I'm saying this is bad, but we're just keeping it simple).
. . .besides, I think FMIL would get PISSED if we didn't have a party, as would my parents, so there you go.

Two of my friend eloped in Vegas. It was a simple ceremony with just the two of them. And it was just what they wanted which was perfect.
I wanted something simple but FH wanted a party in NY so.... we just kept things really simple at our party and it was perfect for us.
each couple has their own vision. So as long as it feels right in your heart then its perfect for you!

It's all a matter of taste. Do what feels right to you. Everyone's style and needs are different.
I actually opted for the big wedding with the hall and at the end of the night, I said we should have just gone to an island. You may feel like you missed out if you don't have the big wedding.

I think it's about what makes YOU happy. . I personally would never want to elope b/c it's REALLY important for me to be surrounded by friends and family . and even in my wedding I am trying to splurge where I want and cut back where I can. . but it's about what's write for you!! So if what you are doing makes you happy that's all that matters!

we have friends that plan on doing something extremely simple... and i looked at fh when i heard and was like wth? thats their idea of a wedding? i know i shouldnt think like that but its hard when you been planning a 'perfect' wedding for 2 yrs and they come along and want to do the bare minimum... it seems weird to me... so i dont think we're over doing it... its just a normal NY wedding

ITA!!! In addition, all I really wanted was an e-ring!!! I didn't shut up about it!!!

sometimes i do....i mean we got ALOT of extra stuff added but bottom line we wanted it and to some it may be over done but to us its just fun
