I did that, and the time frame said I should have ovulated between 2/9 and 2/14, but from the KITS when I tested on the 5th that was the day I got the darkest line and today when I used a stick it was light.

My question is, during the period of ovulation, will the stick always change color, but there is only one time that the color will be the darkest and that is the optimal time of ovulation???

So, when you tested on the 5th, you had 2 dark lines? Or was one dark and lite? Maybe this month you ovulated early, which is possible.

Yes, if you are ovulating the stick will change color and when they are the darkest, you can ovulate within 24-48 hours.

I used the First Response ones, because they give you a free pregnancy test in it.

When I tested on the 5th my line was darker than the ref line. Every day since the 5th I have used a stick and it has changed colors, each day either similar to the ref line or a little lighter, but it did change. So that is where my confusion lies, which of the days was my optimal day??? I agree I think I ovulated early, b/c I was checking my CM and it was thicker earlier than I expected ie the Ovulation calculator had said 9-14, now I know it has already passed and it is definitely not this week, b/c I am watching my CMD sorry if TMI and I do not see anything.

I also have the Clearblue easy fertility monitor. I have always had irregular cycles and had no idea when I was ovulating. We've been using it for 5 months and it definitely helped pinpoint when I was ovulating.
You check the monitor in the morning and it tells you if you need to 'dip a stick'. Then you put the stick in the monitor and it gives you your reading. Very easy...I would highly recommend, although it is pricey.

Shamm. it is very easy to read. If you see a faint second line that means you will be ovulating within the next 24 hours. If you see a darker line that the reference one, it means...GET BUSY
Im very regular. I get my AF EVERY month on the 11th.

Well, I'm going to go out and buy the OP kit tomorrow, however according to the ovulation calculators (i.e. obfocus.com) I will ovulate on the 17th and DH will be in England from the 16th until the 19th! I can't believe it! I thought I was going to ovulate around Valentine's Day so we would have had a 'fun' weekend! Maybe I'll ovulate early...............

From what you said, I would say you would have ovulated on 2/6 or 7...

If you shop in Walmart, try the Answer Ovulation kits, they are reasonably priced (like $11 for 5 days and a free pregnancy test). My cousin and a friend of mine used them and it worked for them.
